BigWood Posted January 5, 2012 Report Posted January 5, 2012 New to site, but had some ??? On a .243 at build... I understand that I have to use a .308 at upper and lower, but other than the barrel what parts at .243 specific? Armalite or DPMS platform? This will be my first .308 AR platform gun and would like to build it myself.
98Z5V Posted January 5, 2012 Report Posted January 5, 2012 With the parent carttridge being the .308 Win, I'd think you would only need the .243 Win barrel. Only other thing you'd have to verify would be loading the cartridges in a .308 magazine. Sure they'll fit, with the loaded length, but will they stack and feed reliably?... <dontknow>

Still researching the options, might be on hold on the whole thing due to lack of parts from so many distributors. If anyone has any suggestions feel free to comment.
