SI Defense gen II upper

I just got done with a build and now I'm trying to plan my next one, which I'm thinking is going to be a .308 and I was thinking of using the SI Defense upper that has the rail on the side and no forward assist, I believe the Gen II. I was wondering what everybody thought about theirs whether it be the quality of the upper or dealing with the customer service. The other thing is that I can't find anywhere to buy just the stripped upper, I've seen it in matched pairs but not just the stripped upper with rail.
