survivalshop Posted July 12, 2012 Report Posted July 12, 2012 Whats a good bi pod , light weight & not too cheap or too expensive. The bi pod I have on my 20 " HB is great , but kinda large & weighty , I picked it out to fit the target rifle type . I want to put a bi pod on this 24" ,5.56 , I'm setting up for Coyote hunting in Ohio this year, but I would like something simpler, lighter .I'm not a big user of bi pods as you can tell , but am seeing some specialized uses for them now a days .I picked up a 4" rail to mount on the bottom of my FF hand guard , this hand guard has no provisions for mounting , I will have to align , drill & tap the holes .I know a lot use Harris , I have seen them ,but never played with one , guess its time to start.
planeflyer21 Posted July 13, 2012 Report Posted July 13, 2012 I got a good deal on a Weaver Tactical, half off at Sportsman's Warehouse. It is a great bipod for $100! Lightweight too. Just go through it and locktight all the screws with blue. Now, at full price of $199, I would be willing to look at all the other offerings out there.Jon
98Z5V Posted July 13, 2012 Report Posted July 13, 2012 SS, this will be my next one:http://www.gggaz.com/xds-2-tactical-bipod.htmlI've been running one of these for years now, originally for/on the .308 AR, and I "migrate" it to other rifles - the GG&G XDS Heavy Duty, at 18.5 oz.http://www.gggaz.com/quick-detach-heavy-duty-bipod.htmlOne day in the future - I've been putting it off - I'll pick up the XDS standard bipod for a few of the 5.56 guns. They just don't need the "heavy duty" stuff, and can easily work with a lighter-duty bipod. Here's the standard, and what I'd look at in your position right now, and it's pulling 13 oz:http://www.gggaz.com/quick-detach-standard-xds-swivel-bipod.html
98Z5V Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 GG&G is right in Tucson. I'm 70 damn miles away... One of these days I'll make it a priority to get there, and talk to them in person. It just needs to be after a payday... <laughs> <lmao>
