Looking for a good hunting scope...

Just picked up a new armalite for hunting. I mostly hunt in wisconsin for whitetail. Im looking for nice scope that looks good on the gun and is very funtional. Im new with all this, so any input would be great.

What's your maximum range, in the hunt?  Makes a BIG difference in recommendations.

I would say max 300yds.  Last few i have got were just under 100yds.

Think a mil dot scope would be cool..

For 300 yards on deer, I would suggest the Redfield 2-7x33 Revolution.  They are made in Oregon by Leupold.

My buddy has one on an Encore in .444 Marlin...they will handle the recoil.

They also have a modest ranging reticle that would serve you well out to 300 yards.
