iwan2hav1,2 Posted July 18, 2012 Report Posted July 18, 2012 Does anyone know what is the significance of a cryogenically treated rifle barrel? I am looking at Rock River LAR 308 They advertise their barrels as cryogenically treated.
98Z5V Posted July 18, 2012 Report Posted July 18, 2012 Hit up these guys - lots of info on their website. The benefits of cryo treatment are pretty widely used, in lots of applications. Firearms barrels are no exception.http://www.300below.com/^^^ They're one of the best in the country.
planeflyer21 Posted July 18, 2012 Report Posted July 18, 2012 It is a contentious subject, with those that claim cryogenic treatment does little or nothing screaming it is a waste of time/money.I do know this...firearms that are treated cryogenically by the manufacturer are often considered to be more accurate off-the-shelf by the shooting public, than those that are not treated.Someone locally will treat your firearm for like $80...not bad if there is a benefit.Jon
