fcr
What is the part to make a UBR compatible, In other words how does it function ? Is it obtainable from Magpul ?
98Z5V
The UBR comes with it's own receiver extension (buffer tube). To run it on the AR-10, you'll need an AR-10 (or comparable .308-specific) buffer spring and buffer CARBINE buffer and CARBINE buffer spring. With those parts, it'll mount right up to your AR-10. I've seen some guys say that it won't function properly unless you've got a "Slash stubby buffer," (you can Google that and it'll turn up for you). I can't verify that info one way or the other, though. Can you get it directly from Magpul? Sure. You'll pay full MSRP that way, and there are other online vendors that have it cheaper. I'd shop around a little and find the best deal you can. Hit this for the Slash buffer:http://www.heavybuffers.com/ar10carbine.html
fcr
Thanks for the reply, I found out it was the buffer and spring after posting. I went to the SASS site, I was under the impression that something wouldn't clear. I found UBRs for 199.00 from DSG Arms, OD green.

I had to post this correction - just wrong if I tell you tell you to get an AR-10 buffer and spring. AR-10 CARBINE buffer and CARBINE buffer spring, specifically. The UBR takes a carbine buffer and carbine buffer spring, due to it's size, and it's design. My bad, man... :o

mrosbro
i run slash's heavy buffer and spring for an ar10,in my standard six position collapsible stock. took it off one of my ar15's e-mailed slash and had a buffer and spring in three days. i have had no malfunctions at all.he makes a good product and from my understanding if you do run into a problem he will help you through it happily. fcr
Just received mine from him last week. I won't be able to test it until I replenish the coffers for some other parts. Getting close though.
fngmike
I'm also running one of Slash's buffers and springs on an Eagle Arms Armalite lower. Started off with a CAA 6 pos. and left the buffer tube on and changed over to a Magpul ACS. No problems at all with my 16" upper.
