Medic1
I haven't ordered anything yet, I will in the next couple of weeks, also I am going to use this for some target shooting and hunting whitetails, max shot will be at or cloce to 200 yrds. I'll be shoting reg .308 rounds, 150 gr. and will prob. be reloading some also. I would like to keep it under 8.5-9 lbs.LIKE I SAID ALL HELP WWELCOME. edgecrusher
The YHM rail is an ar15 part and will not fit a .308ar receiver. Make sure you are looking at the larger platform parts. Your bcg is a conundrum, its either chrome or phosphate, I don't think it can be both. Excellent choice on barrel, and if you buy a bolt at the same time, they will headspace it for you. We're here, so make sure you ask about anything that might puzzle you.
Medic1
I've been looking at the handguards and I wasn't sure they would work, I was going to call or e-mail yhm to ask, It is hard to find them for the LR 308 platform, If anyone knows wheere I could look let me know. I am getting the barrel straight from Rainier and the bolt from I think Brownell's maybe Midwayusa. Do i need to get the bolt and barrel worked on, Matched? Thanks for all and any help. edgecrusher
Well no, not worked on. Definitely headspaced. Rainier has dpms phosphate carrier groups in stock, I would recommend buy it with your barrel, they will headspace it for you. As for hand guards, what are you doing with it? Mounting tacticool toys or maybe just a bipod? Troy industries has many styles for the large platform ar's,check them out. Daniel defense does too, and their lite rails sure are purdy! Medic1
I'll mount a bi-pod when shooting from a bench or what not, and a vert. grip at other times, I mainly just like the way for ways look, gives a agresive look. I want free float for sure for the increased accuracy. I will deff. check those two places out that was mentioned.
jeffreyC
Another option for a handguard is the Precision Reflex Deltahttp://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=54519/avs%7CManufacturer_1=PRECISION%20REFLEX,%20INCxzzx/Product/AR15-308AR-Delta-Free-Float-Forearms
