Another new guy building a 308

Hey, first post here.  I got an 80% 308 lower from Tactical Machining.  It was a beautiful part as received.  Only one slight issue:  the hole for the bolt catch roll pin was not drilled quite deep enough into the magazine side of the slot, and the little setscrew couldn’t engage the threads.  However, since the pin engagement was way more than necessary, I just ground the .5” pin to .4” and popped it in there.  There’s still more than enough engagement, works great.

I machined, light grit blasted and anodized it, which turned out real nice.  It passed all functional testing with a DPMS 308LPK installed with no issues.  I’ll post pictures of it later because unfortunately my camera just took a dump on me.  By the time the new camera gets here that I just ordered, I’ll have my nice new upper on it.

I used a combination of a Colt AR15 drawing and a hand drawing of a 308 that’s on the net.  The hand drawing was very helpful.  I added some dimensions and made some notes on it while machining that I’m going to use for my next one and may come in handy for anybody else (attached).  I hope somebody finds this helpful.

I know this thread is very old, but I just wanted to say thanks for posterity's sake, and let anyone else that's trying to machine a TM10 lower without the jig/template know, that this is the best information you'll find.  And it seems good!
