Bluelon Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 Hey can anyone answer a question for me? I sent my trigger in for tuning, but I want to go shoot this weekend. Can I use a trigger from one of my AR15's just for the weekend so I can shoot the 308. It is a R25/DPMS. No target shooting, just plinking and fun.
TacBlade Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 You can put it in and find out. I guess the hammer and the Spring would be lighter, but if you are lucky, it will work out for you. I would try it. Then, report back and let us know how it went...Thanks
survivalshop Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 Both my 308's have AR 15 fire control groups in them ,no alterations except I like to polish mine up a bit before install .
Bluelon Posted September 25, 2010 Author Report Posted September 25, 2010 YEA! I just got my trigger back from Bill Springfield and put it in today. I don't have a pull gauge to measure it but it feels heavier than what he advertises. I can handle heavy as long as it is crisp and smooth, which it is. Not as good as a couple of hundred dollar drop in trigger but WAY better than from the factory. I was shooting sub-MOA before the trigger work, now it may get even better. I'll go shooting tomorrow and post some results.
Bluelon Posted September 27, 2010 Author Report Posted September 27, 2010 Went to the range today and was more than happy with the Bill Springfield trigger job. Got it sighted in 3.25" high at 100 then moved to the 300 yd line with the 8" gomgs. 20 shots 20 gongs. Holding at 12 oclock and the bullets were hitting between 3 oclock and dead center. Nothing I'm gonna change now.I'll start working up handloads now.
