Posumkiker
I just completed my 308 AR build. Head spacing is correct. After test firing, I noticed that the brass had a small dent near the shoulder. Everything functions properly. I was thinking that the brass was being ejected so forcefully that it was being dented on the deflector? Could this be a buffer weight issue? Parts: -Mega Arms MATEN receiver set -Rainier Arms 20" SS Match Barrel -JP SS Enhance Bolt -Fulton Armory SS Bolt Carrier -JP 15.5" Modular Hand Guard -JP Polished Buffer Spring -DPMS Rifle Length Buffer -Magpul Furniture
planeflyer21
You have a picture of the brass? How dented? Jon
Posumkiker
Not with me. I'll post one tonight. It is pretty small up near the shoulder.
edgecrusher
It could be an overgassing issue, and a heavier buffer would help, but we need pics.
Ben Diss
All that high end stuff and no adjustable gas block?
edgecrusher
All that high end stuff and no adjustable gas block? A heavy buffer may be better suited to solve this, especially if he isn't reloading his own ammo.

Posumkiker
Here is my brass in 2 different lights. Thoughts?
98Z5V
Extractor marks on the rims? Check the relation/location of those dents, compared to the location of some extractor marks. See if both round have marks in the same locations.
planeflyer21
That's how steel cases look out of the AK, from the cocking handle SLAMMING into them. Before they get launched into the next county. Jon
Posumkiker
I installed a Seekins adjustable gas block and an XH Buffer from heavybuffer.com. That did the trick. Thanks for all of the input!
