I've seen reports that Andrea Bocelli (sp?) and Jack Nicholson both were spared being aborted, though no way to verify that.

 

There's a meme that goes "God, why won't you send us someone to cure all of our ills?" to which he replies "I did...and you aborted them."

 

The description of that "doctor's" clinic sounds like something from a horror flick.
