I was going to make my own hot wire cutter for cutting foam in various cases. By the time i figured out the parts, shipping and time involved I decided I would just spend $100 and buy this

I have the blade set for my soldering gun. It works well enough. Just a little rough around the edges.

Im going to make templates for a lot of the items that will repeat often. I really purchased it for making case interiors for my photography equipment. My neighbor down the street is an AP photographer. She says a bunch of her colleagues use a guy who does custom interiors for rifle cases. She's where I got the idea.

I use an electric meat carver. Cheaper, and works well. I've cut the foam in my Storm im3100 cases for my AR15 and PWS MK216.
