98Z5V
PTRs are good rifles - nice copies of the G3 design, roller lock and all. I don't have one, but I've always wanted one. Done a ton of research on them, with not much bad out there. Everything I've been able to dig up about them comes down to good reliability. Many, many moons ago, around 1986, I was a member of the Fort Ord Gun Club. Back in those days, you could pull a HK-91 from the Gun Club for around $600. I didn't get one - I was a Private, and that was a whole month of pay! Couple years later, I'm back at Fort Ord, in '89. Go back out to the Gun Club, sign back up - damn! The price is up to $1,200 for the HK-91! WTF?! Couple years later, you couldn't find them... One day I'll have that PTR. CDNN's prices are good for them, too. Rsquared
I've got one of the PTR's. It's a nice HK clone. Well made. About as accurate as a G3 (91). Reliable. The only time that mine has even burped was when I tried running it suppressed. It didn't like the can at all. But without it? It run's great. And HK mags are cheap and available everywhere. And who doesn't love that HK design of "slapping" the bolt (Op rod) forward?
