Now here's a newbie builder question, what exactly does he mean by "finishing" ? vvv

 

Hi,

 

We’d be happy to make a 6.8 caliber barrel for you and we can do so with an AR profile.  But we don’t offer a finished drop-in type 6.8 barrel – it would need to be finished by an AR gunsmith.

 

The price for a barrel like this is $340 plus shipping and about 12 weeks on delivery.

That means it goes to somebody like Lance and sits on the shelf for another six months before it gets work for 2 or 3 days till its finished.

I considered the 6.8 spc as well but I decided against it for the 6.5 Grendel. Don't get me wrong I'd love to have 6.8 spc as well but that's just another caliber I'd have to stock up on.

Its a good long distance rifle on small to medium game, I shot a doe at 425 yards three years ago with it.
