  1. Now that does suck, mine is a PWA coming from Arizona. Any word on your items you sent to US Ano?
  2. Preban lower is on its way, now I can build an AR like a free man! ;)
  3. I recall reading somewhere, that when the military conducted trials for the M110 SASS, the specification was for the M118LR ammo to be used, and that ammo uses the 175gr Sierra HPBT bullet loaded at 2600fps.
  4. LOL, no, I wish. my CCW is a S&W 629 with a 3" bbl.
  5. No joy here, 15 4e. Gotta use half a cow for my shoes!
  6. I Googled for info on 308 ARs and got the main website, then naturally came here.
  7. I got the muzzle break back today. I originally bought a miculek break but didn't like how the break was a bigger o.d. then the barrel and the jam nut was smaller then the barrel. So I took it to a friend to make me a new nut to match the size of the barrel or break, either or didn't care which. He said to hell with that and made me one out of stainless to match the barrel. nice clean lines.
  8. Ive built several sporterized mausers and a few others as a hobby. right now the only ones I have left(messy divorce) are an Argentine 1909 mauser rebarreled to 300WSM and my Win mdl 70 heavy bench gun in 308. I have ALOT of hours in the mauser, hell the stock alone has 18 coats of hand rubbed tung oil.
  9. they never have the good stuff for us guys with big feet!

we haven't had squat here in NY (near corning) a few days of drizzle but that's it
  11. http://www.tacticalmachining.com/products.php?pid=41 very nice 308 lower
  12. I'm at the Rochester gun show in the morning then off to work at night(yay) :P
  13. I have the Accu-Shot BT12 PRM (Precision Rail Monopod) With Quick Knob on my 50 cal, works great. This pic doesn't show it but up near the top of the knob there is a flush mounted push button to slide it open quick.
  14. took about 3 weeks, they called friday because she couldn't read my chicken scratches of a hand writing to verify my addy, and it came today. this is the second lower they did for me, and it turned out great, nothing but good things to say about US Ano.
  15. Well I'm 90% done so far, got the lower back from US Anodizing. Need to put some glass on her and the permanent brake the start the break in. The Geissele DMR trigger is smooth and crisp at 3lbs for the 1st stage and about 8oz for the 2nd, I love it.
  16. I bought the kit from Midway
  17. Bench rest and Precision shooters lap their scope rings after mounting them to the receiver to ensure a precise fit and to minimize the stress put on the scope from misaligned rings.
  18. I just bought the Burris AR P.E.P.R. mount, opinion on lapping the rings of a one piece mount? :P
  19. one of my shooting buddies bought an ultrasonic cleaner for the BCG and small parts, and he swears by it. Lets it soak for a half hour or so and then rinces with hot water and carb cleaner. thought about trying it myself.
  20. Just wondering what makes it better then the harris?
  21. +1 TM has great customer service and great workmanship. Im sure he can hook you up.
  22. In its "as is" stock condition , is it of collectors value? something rare? (other then being preban) me personally, if its not collector grade value wise, I would do the lower to modern milspec finish to match todays choice of parts and toys. but thats me.
  23. Welcome aboard ;D
  24. Pretty much yeah, I was just mentioning it as food for thought , thats all. I look at it this way, why chance it when the SSA is the same as the SSF only w/o the full auto capability. I decided to go with the DMR myself. I'll let you know how it works out, the rest of my parts should be in by next week.
