  1. I recently bought a Lee Pro 1000 progressive press for reloading 223 ammo. I want to use it for my 6.8spc also, but Lee wants $100 dollars to make a "custom" shell plate for it. My question is this, What are the dimensions of the 40 S&W shell holder and The 6.8spc shell holder? Lee list the 40 S&W as being a #19 and the 6.8spc as being a #21. I don't want to spend $100 on a shell plate if a $15 40S&W shell holder is the same dimensions. And yes, I called Lee and they said it wont work for the 6.8spc, but i think it will, after all the case head dimensions are very close. Thanks Guys <thumbsup>

    HSM Ammo

I know their 50bmg ammo is a little on the hot side, but that was also old stock, could be better now though. haven't tried it lately, still got a bunch of reloads, so I'm GTG there. <thumbsup>
  4. I feel your pain, ammo in NY is ungodly expensive, that's why I buy mail order on everything. I hate that 8.25% tax as well.

  6. I just went to true hunter, they have no ammo listed, when did you get it? If you don't reload, would you be willing to part with your brass? 8)
  7. Thanks man, I ended up ordering 200 rnds of the 115gr OTM. I just wish it was the combat loading, but beggars cant be choosers <thumbsup>
  8. Has anyone found a good price on this stuff? The best I have found is around a buck a round from SSA?
  9. If the 6.8 is your choice, make sure it has a spec II chamber with a minimum twist of 1-10. the original chamber design had pressure problems. My 6.8 has a specII with a 1-11 twist made by the now defunct Ko-tonics. to bad they shut down because it shoots awesome. <thumbsup> check these guys out, I think they are the same people that use to be Ko-tonics/Cardinal
  10. Yep, just as thought, mine is bigger....the scope that is....lol. Mine measures 1.953 and 1.825, so no cat tail for me, dam. :(
  11. I hate to be a PITA, if you have a set of calipers, can you measure the size of the power ring? I was planning to buy a cat tail for mine, but if my rear objective is bigger, the power ring might be also. So the the Millet DMS-1 cat tail wont fit. Again thanks for the great pics. <thumbsup> And love the scrolling marquee imschur !!! <lmao>
  12. the turret knobs do look identical but I have found a difference, mine has a larger rear objective, it takes #20 BC flip up cap while the millet takes a #16 (a little smaller). I see yours has a longer eye relief also. Oh, and the Battery isn't the same, no spare either . Thanks for the pics, much appreciated.
  13. Hey 98, can you do me a favor? post some pics of the adjustment knobs w/o the caps on. I just bought a Chinese scope to play with that has all the same features as the DMS-1. I'm just curious how similar they are? Here' a pic of mine. Here's the other side
  14. I just found a really nice stick to help stir the pot!
  15. as well as the money out of the wallet <lmao>
  16. I just bought a vector scope as my cheap throw on to replace that barska I have on it now. that one kicked the bucket this last week end.
  17. Sniper central talks some about it here, and this company sells the ammo.
  18. I got mine at Golden state tactical here
  19. Hey Matt, were you going with the 175 GMM, or the 168s?
  20. I don't think i like the DPMS factory 10 rnd mags. I had 4 feed failures this weekend, switched to my magpul 10/20 p-mags, not one feed failure. Think I'm gonna put the DPMS mags on a shelf and keep for emergencies.
  21. Have you guys tried this yet, would love some input?
  22. Went to the range yesterday, mainly to sight in my AR-15, it was a really windy day. Was able to finish the break-in process on the 308 as well. Wasn't really concerned with groups on the 308 just wanted to finish the break-in. But just before closing up for the day I wanted to fire a "rapid" fire string for group(fire, reset, fire), managed this nice group in about 20 sec. Was shooting 175 Fed GMM at 100 yrds. I couldn't be happier with how this build turned out. <thumbsup>
  23. Welcome aboard <thumbsup>
  24. I found some really neat software for the reticles offered by Hawke optics. But it also looks like it could come in handy for mil-dots as well. Its free and can be found here.
  25. I know a guy that uses Mobile 1 motor oil and an artists paintbrush to "paint" oil on his bolt before shooting. Not something I'm gonna try though even though he swears by it. :o
