  3. Right now on Gun Broker. 3 hrs left. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=173419404
  4. Not seeing it. The best I saw after a cursory search was at Ammunition To Go, and even then it was $249.95/200 rounds http://www.ammunitiontogo.com/catalog1/index.php/cName/308-762-nato-match-grade
  5. I've always been a fan of NRO. A June 11 article caught my eye, and I felt it was worth passing along. http://article.nationalreview.com/435971/gun-control-and-mass-murders/john-r-lott-jr
  6. Whoa guy! Just coming back to this topic today.....and all I can say is, I'm not sure where you drew that out of. The only thing I am saying in my post is: 1. I'm new here 2. I've only made a few posts 3. There are no ego's here 4. Great site and great group of guys Hope that clears it up for you.
  7. I've been here for a little bit, though I'm probably considered "new" in terms of print out production. I would echo the sentiments above in that whether you have a rifle or not.....post. I'm a member on a couple other gun boards and I can categorically state that this is the one site that's free of ego's and know-it-all's. Good bunch of people here.
  8. Don't know if this is a good price for you or not; -http://www.ammoengine.com/find/store_frame/2870940?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.cheaperthandirt.com%2FAMM597-5.html
  9. Yes, you can shoot .308 in the 7.62 You should only shoot .308 in the .308 rifle however. Look on the bottom side of your barrel. If it is stamped 7.62 you can shoot either. If it is stamped .308, shoot only .308 in it.
  10. Yup......I bought a Dewey rod too, teflon coated I believe. I like it. Got the chamber rod too.
  11. You know what they say. When you see a good deal, you should consider getting it then because it might not be there when you go back. I'm still agonizing over this one. CMP had some 7.62, 180 gr. @ $65 a case (100) plus S+H. "Mr. Swift's" plan was to wait for his OT check to hit and then buy 5 cases. Well, I waited too long. I had been planning on buying it when the check hit this past friday. Wednesday.....I mozy over to the CMP forum just to see what was kicking, and I saw that some guy had commented on the fact that the ammo had sold out on Wednesday!! :o Nooooooo! I sat there stunned for a minute, my life flashing before my eyes for a few heartbeats before I mustered up the courage to log in and go over and look for myself. I reasoned that it couldn't be true because I had planned this out so meticulously. So, I get on and check. Sure enough.....gone! I didn't cry, but I was mistin' up. It took me three days to get over it....my wife even avoided me after a while....but, I'm better now. I'm still shaking my head, but I bit the bullet, and put in an order with Cabela's for some American Eagle match grade , which is out right now, but which will be in on June 10th. I opted to go pick it up. Live and learn
  12. Matt, just wanted to pass along a kudos on the pad colors......very passive. <laughs>
  13. Pretty expensive piece of plastic. Advertised on DPMS and Brownells at $60 & $61 respectively. I found a better price here: http://www.jsesurplus.com/dpms308pantherreceiverclaw.aspx
  14. Anyone used ammo from this company? http://www.amballistics.com/id20.htm I'd be interested in hearing others opinions. Looks like they sell by the box or the case, but you have to call on pricing.
  15. Yeah, generous guy wasn't he? Anyway, I elected to order some of the Pmags, so we'll see how that works. The price was certainly alot more bearable.
  16. To their credit, I'd rec'd a message from Nelson Tactical while I was out. I called them back and he said that it was an unfortunate mistake with their computer. He told me that instead of listing the $44.95 price per mag, the computer had listed the 5 pack as $44.95 per. He said the same thing happend to a gun they had placed on Gunbroker, so he was trying to do damage control. He was profusely sorry, and said that, that price for a 5-pack was unreasonable (which I suppose I couldn't argue) but he said that he would sell me a 5-pack for $185 with free shipping. I think I'm going to pass and will go with the Pmags, though imshur, I mentioned you to him, and he said he was aware of your order as there were just the two of us, so if you want to place an order with them, call Darrell @ (920) 884-2580. Guess that's about it.
  17. Admittedly, my anger has subsided, but imshur will vouch for the fact that they were selling 5-packs for $49.95. I ordered 3 packs. According to their own media, that sale was posted on April 9, so that means it was up for 2 weeks. With a deal like that, I find it hard to believe that someone didn't see it and jump on it before I did. Maybe it was a promo stunt------I have no idea, but I do know that this is gonna backfire on them. By example, several years ago, I walked in to a major outdoor company up here where I live looking for decent hiking boots. I went over to the table, saw a pair I liked and took them over to the counter. The price they rang up was decidedly more than that which was advertised over on the table. The manager went over and verified, that yeah, they made a mistake on the sign......but in good faith, honored the price as posted and then went back over to rectify their mistake. Since then, I have gone back to that store and spent a substantial amount on their products. That is what these people need to realize. They posted the price, the savings, and the new price per item. They need to honor that in good faith. As such, I'd say heck yes, write them and let them know what you think of that kind of business practice. All I'm asking is that they honor my order. They will lose more in lost revenue from bad publicity than the money spent in rectifying their mistake. News in the gun community travels. Makes sense to me.
  18. This is what they sent me: "Due to a pricing error we had to cancel the transaction and refund your money. We apologize for the inconvenience but hope we can still do business together in the future! Sincerely, Nelson Tactical Sales Team" As you allude to, it's not my fault that they made the mistake and it certainly didn't read like a mistake. It read like a huge price slash. Once I read their "so sorry" email, I hurried over to their website in disbelief. They had already pulled their add by the time I'd checked it. But, more importantly, they clearly advertised it as a huge savings, which it was. They clearly demonstrated intent to slash prices, advertising the original price with a slash price through it, below that they printed in bold numbers the dollar savings and the new low price (which admittedly made me to a triple take). So........their contention of a pricing error doesn't wash because they posted an original price, the price savings, and the new, low price. If they do the wrong thing and attempt to sweep this under the rug I will warn them that I will be contacting the Attorney General from both my state and theirs as well as the Better Business Bureau. I'm hoping when they sit down and read my email to them, they will do the honorable thing and process my order because it will cost them far more in negative press then will have been worth it for them.
  19. I've got news for you. I don't deter that easy. I just sent them a pointed email telling them that I have a copy of my order which they accepted and should now honor (I copied and pasted it to them). Any store that I know of which makes a mistake generally honors their advertising. You know it...I know it. The fact that they made a mistake alters nothing. As good businessmen, they should fill the orders placed and then pull the page down and accept no more. If they don't they invite unwanted attention.....which they are about to receive from me if they don't honor my order. You may want to send a similiar note. We'll see what kind of response I receive. I'll keep you posted.
  20. Stumbled on a tremendous deal from Nelson Tactical. Placed an order today, you may want to place yours. http://www.nelsontactical.com/products/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=46_1_39&products_id=983
  21. Couldn't figure out this bit about the freewheeling action of the vise, so I emailed the company. So ok, I'm an idiot. They said that once you clamp something in it, it doesn't move. ::)
  22. Part deux
  23. Someone please explain to me at what point you attain "OFS" (old fart status), because ashamedly, I was actually giddy about getting my lights up over my bench this afternoon. It's over......I know it's over. The lights are from Lowe's. They're 48" 2-light T8 shop lights @ 17.98 plus 2 cool white lights (not included) @ $6.98/pr. The price includes the jack chain for suspension, as well as the suspension hooks, so there's no additional hardware to buy. I seem to keep doing that due to the age in which we live. :o Anyway, as I wait for more flotsam to arrive from Brownell's to further dress out my pride and joy, I have a couple of new pics with other window dressing. Again, two parts due to pics.
  24. Nothing that exciting, but to answer the top question, trinkets mostly lately. Now that I have a gun bench, I'm slowly stocking it. Got the shop light at Lowe's last night, and will install today. I have on order from Brownells: 3 pack 4oz. poptop solvent bottles 1000 ct cleaning patches RPM cleaning mat (16x54) Sinclair AR-10 link Sinclair O-Ring Rod Guide for the 7.62 5 pack O-ring replacements
