I had a Bushmaster AR-15 back in 2002.. was an E2?? Paid $900 for it in NJ.. ugh.. was a 14.5 with FH welded it on. :( bought a nice (at the time) BSA 6-24x44 scope for $150.. bough 1000 rounds of Fed SLC ammo for like $199.. :( ran out of $.. sold unfired to another guy on a forum for $600.. well in 2008 I got back into rifles.. first was a 91/30 MN.. then AK, then AK74, then Saiga in 308.. then I wanted MORE ACCURACY.. 1 3/8" at 100 yards wasn't good enough.. so... I bought my DPMS LR-308.. for Xmas 2010 for myself.

It was called an A3 upper when I bought it.. it has a LOW PROFILE gas block.. and the HG can be removed without taking the gasblock off if I had to.. its lower than the HG front sleeve.. going to run some more rounds thru this weekend.. 8) I ended up putting a new Nikon ProStaff 3-9x40 and taking off the Bushnell. shot this @ 200 yards last weekend.. 1 5/8" for 10 shots..

Thanks running under $1600 on a 308 is usually a good idea to-boot. Got about 200 rounds on the scope from my S308 using it prior to this being put onto here.. checked @ 200 yards using the TAP and AMAX using ballistics charts and such... ranged @ 200 and shot right on point at 300 400 & 500 yard marks (at the 200 yard range)..

The scope lens cap is just about RIDING the MBUS but the MBUS still has movement so it can't be that tight on it. <thumbsup> Using an almost KISS approach.. and my wallet thanks me..

This is the newer Hornady 168gr A-Max Superperformance Match (80964). its got more zing at 2840 FPS, then the regular 2700 FPS 168gr A-Max.. Anyone shooting this thru there DPMS 16" types?? I got a 16" Heavy Barrel and want GOOD ammo for out to 600 yards.. I'd prefer to stick with Hornady and after comparing notes.. the 150 SST is also on the top of my list.. though ALOT of people say the DPMS perfers 168gr + ammo.. and the SST had issues with PRIMERS falling out supposedly.. ??? Any feedback with actual users would be good.. at $30/box I want to get this RIGHT... :o

Nelson Tactical had the DPMS LR-308 with A3 top for $996 back in November.. I had then swap the collapsible for A2 stock.. they did it for FREE prior too shipping.. Only thing I added was the Hogue PG and the EOTech 552 (which was $150.. as it was used).. ok.. I may have hoodwinked the seller abit.. by helping him sell it.. <lmao> added the MBUS rear and MI Front Flip.. total is under $1500.. <thumbsup>

I just got in the Sig SP2022 in 9mm.. so far I have 145 rounds thru it.. VERY HAPPY THUS FAR.. :)

Thanks.. the 10 Acres is good, but the power is 1 mile down the section line.. and the road is 1 mile over or coming in from 800 yards below.. :( I am going to be selling the 10 acres for [glow=red,2,300]$2800[/glow] as I have $1600 in the survey I just had done, the DVD from the surveyor, of course what I paid for it back in 2004. and the GPS to the property.. the good news for the buyer would be is I have ALL the local info for drilling a well and the power company on the road. I just don't have the need for 2 properties one of which would need a VERY long driveway put in.. be good for hunting.. but I don't hunt. :-[ Other than that.. I hope all goes well with a NEWER car (my 98 explorer is dying) and the new parcel.. Al

Just put a $250 deposit in the mail for another 11.12 acres in TX.. I have 10 acres surveyed in the same area (about 3 miles south).. 8) This one is better.. has power on it and a ROAD thru the middle.. (only about 30 feet wide in the center).. <thumbsup> The better news is my surveyor confirmed the ROAD before I committed to purchasing it Tusday this week.. ;D oh and its only $1250 CASH.. as I did business with same guy back in 2004. What I learned today.. is left is not right and up is not down.. <lmao> After pulling hair with that dillema.. :o I got her set at 100 yards.. here is the last 5 rounds.. 3 were Horn 150SST and 2 were Rem 150gr Corelokt.. not the best.. but this is a 1 moa dot at 100yards without magnification.. so 3 1/4" for an EoTech will have to do till next outing.. I think the SST's grouped on the left and the 2 Corelokt on the right.. Al

Decided to cancel the EoTech 512 for $360.. Was going to keep the Bushnell Trophy RD.. But then on Ebay.. older model EoTech 552 w/NV for $160.. Now I think I am done with this.. now to go shoot some more with new setup.

Sold some stuff this past week.. (ok $366 worth).. Got a used older EoTech for $160 shipped.. (like the Bushnell Holo w.flat buttons and NV button).. looked CLEAN and is Real.. kinda talked the seller into it... once he verified with pics it was real.. I pounced and offered $150.. and he did it.. Yee-haw.. and a $7 AR front adjustment tool.. so I can adjust my front IRON sight.. :) Now I can FINALLY save $ for a car come spring..

I just found a NEW EoTech 512.65/1 model for $360 (with sale).. and then a $30 rebate.. total is $330 shipped.. (most places are $400 or so).. Couldn't really say NO to that deal.. just ordered up.. For gas-block install the instructions say to mount backwards as not to hit the Free Float Tube or Handguard when 'down'.. no not your eyes.. If I were to cut say 1/4" off the THICKNESS of it I could get them to go the other way... but for $80 I'll just leave it.. LOL.. Albert

Thanks for the tips.. I got some Miltec TW25B on the 'rails' and will be using some Mobil 1 oil on mine also prior to firing for the first time.. I thought it was 20 rounds then clean.. then 1 round and clean routine?? didn't read my booklet yet... But yes.. ALOT of people have used the std AR15 buffer & spring and had the same - results.. keep the 308 one in an you should be G-t-G.. Al

I am entertaining using Bill also.. many GREAT reviews.. he said send him my lower (with/without butt-stock) and $60 and he'd hook me up.. Going to shoot the new LR-308 first to check it out.. then maybe during slow season (coming fast) send it to him.. Al

advertised weight is 8.5 lbs.. I don't have a scale here.. I'll see what I can do.. I went with this vs. 20" as that was 11.25 lbs. (advertised). Al

I got the rifle in today and swapped the pistol grip for the HOGUE.. Added the DPMS Miculek Brake.. <thumbsup> Tossed on the QD 3/4" riser and my Bushnell Trophy 65/3 MOA Red Dot.. The bonus (for me) was the Free Float HG is the VENTED (slotted) type.. I could not tell in the picture when I ordered it.. :D now waiting on the MAGPUL MBUS (rear) and MI Flip-Up (front) to wrap her up..

ghitch75.. Not yet.. picking it up tommorrow at dinner time from the FFL person.. I have 2 reduced count mags (15 round) coming in from RifleGear on Thursady, so I can maybe shoot it this weekend..
