You're good. Chambering a round should always meet with some resistance. Even when using a headspacing gauge, the instructions will always state the amount of pressure you need to put on the bolt while you do the checking.
I also think that you are now undergassed. I once had a gas key clog up on me and it caused the rifle to short stroke. I soaked and cleaned it up and presto! A fully functional rifle again.
All you need to do is to determine if your current buffer tube is commercial or mil spec and then buy the correct ACS to fit. You can use the same spring and buffer in either type of buffer tubes.
@Robocop - I got the Restor because I thougt it might tame the longer gas impulse the 18" barrel with the mid length gas system and I must say it works really well. I'd say it is worth a try. @6132Expert - Got it on eb ay
The rifle is brand spanking new and hasn't seen much use yet, so I can't say for sure if it is as durable as Hard coat or not. SI-Defense did the coating and it is done both inside and out. Extra $40 and 6 weeks longer wait time! LOL!
