if I turn mine on it's side the pin will fall out. I am going to have to redo and use larger pins. even if I have to make them both pins are .250 pin size is .250 measurement on receiver are : hole's on upper receiver tabs are. .279 pivot pin is .277 the reartake down pin is at .284 and and hole .294 -
I received my 308 upper receiver block today, I am not to happy with the fit. I originally thought I was buy a DPMS brand but they sent me a part marked 308 Brownells. I have side to side movement and if I take pin and put it in hole on the receiver they are allot smaller.. I could maybe re-drill fixture and use bigger pins.. I did not purchase this at brownell, it came from private dealer how tight should the block fit into upper receiver.? how tight should the pins be?

I will do what I need to do for a lower weight weapon. I have light weight bi-pod, not flip up sights on weapon, I am going to use the MagPul PRS Precision Rifle Adjustable Buttstock. I can handle it OK heavier but don't want to, it is not my entry weapon.. I could post some pic's if I knew how to make them not so big. My favorite weapons, my favorite Harley Davidson Motor cycle. and my what took me years to be able to afford my helicopter. landed in the side yard. next I would like a attack vehicle that is armoured and fast with squad weapons mounted for and aft. just a late in life dream but a weasel would be nice vehicle :( -

nice rifle. looks about what I am trying to build. not sure on optics or grip yet, palm shelf does not seem like it would work well unless at bench, -

which DPMS barrel
308reloaded replied to 308reloaded's topic in DPMS LR-308 General, Technical Discussion
ordered fluted 24" barrel. may cut 4" off and re crown. I will have to wait as see if barrel will look good if shortened. how will fluting look if I remove 4" of barrel. I am no body builder but I can shoot my 110 tactical 308 off hand standing and hit target. just cant do it all day long. after a few shots I am going to prop it up some how. using 57 years of wisdom. -
which DPMS barrel
308reloaded replied to 308reloaded's topic in DPMS LR-308 General, Technical Discussion
I am ordering barrel today, the 18" SASS barrels are out of stock. so I am going with the 24" bull barrel.. how much weight between the fluted and non fluted. and will it really make that much difference in handling rifle? I know there is big price difference. is it hard to shoot standing off hand? -

ejection port cover pin groove
308reloaded replied to 308reloaded's topic in DPMS LR-308 General, Technical Discussion
the clip on the AR15 is to keep pin from falling out, because the hole on buttstock side is not a blind hole, on the LR-308 it is a blind hole ,, but it looks like it could move and go out barrel side thru free float barrel nut holes -
98Z5V thanks for the info. I will get a 308 barrel and not worry about it now.. not that I ever did.. I shoot both in my bolt gun , and before I sold my FNFAL to pay for this build I shot both, mostly 7.62 X51 surplus, I did not know that it was the opposite of the 5.56, to me that's all good news as I reload both. never checked pressure as I just thought loads in book and not at max would be safe. is there any data on what difference is on different barrels say 18" vs 24". I am going will 24" and will turn muzzle end for flash suppressor/ brake

Obama To Push Gun Control

will they need to make knives illegal also, due to the slasher who just killed 4 in 28 hr killing spree -
are there any issues I need to worry about if I order a barrel chambered for the 308win. I know they say it is not safe to shoot 5.56 in 223 chamber. but not aware of any problems with 7.62 X51 shot in a 308win chamber.

anyone here ever order from impact guns. I ordered my lower 17 days ago, I was told it was in stock so I ordered and paid . that was on 1/28/11. since then I have got nothing but them trying to blow smoke up my a$$. I have been told that it was sold to someelse and it would be another 5-7 days before another would arrive. I have been told it has been processed and billed and I should of got a tracking number and invoice.. has not happened yet!! this is my first time purchasing from impact guns, I ordered from them because I was told part was in stock and I would have it with in 5-7 business days of them receiving FFL . how fast is FAX that is how it was sent!! so they have said they have FFL info but I still dint have my part. My plans were simple, search the internet , find all the parts , order , get parts and build rifle.. thought it would take about a month. I have received almost all my parts but my stripped lower. anyone else have bad experience with impact guns?
