Nope on the locktite .......moly,lithium,plain ol bearing grease.....but not locktite....you have plenty of rotational space between 30 and 80 lbs of torque....I try and go for around 60 lbs or so....:) Wash

Shepp thats crazy to have a propane shortage....does it happen often... how much does it cost to fill those 12/14 lb tanks? couldn't grill today....it was 82 yesterday....but 26 today with an 1/8 inch mountain of sleet pellets help I'm froze up :) Wash

Gray I use this one in some http://www.jsesurplus.com/yhmlowprofilegasblockshort.aspx and one has the MI gas block.....I think its called the micro? most all low profile gb's will work with the trx MI or apex :) Wash

Tool Well I checked 3 different gas tubes that I have for spares,and none of them have a stepped down diameter on the reciever end.....then went to PRI and their gas tubes have a step down at the reciever....they sell the fat boy which has a smaller id and a regular tube...and both have a smaller diameter at the reciever end,so theres your prob....if it was me i would get another gas tube that doesn't have a step in it...maybe pri just uses a larger tube for od then steps it down? :) Wash

Gray Ive got one on one of my 308's and the same type on one of my 6.8's...no problemos so far its interesting to note that the ar15 type has a locking tab that sticks out to stop rotation,but they cant do it for the 308 size......so, its the same lockup as the trx which I also have....just be sure to take your time torquing down the 2 bolts that clamp it down :) Wash

Im partial to the Rainier barrels....they all shoot moa or better if I do my part.....and they use a middy length gas system rather than a rifle length tube.....my 16"s are the nutz :) Wash
