Hi Cody nope you wont hurt anything.....actually the 16" may benefit from the prs buffer/spring. you have a rifle length gas tube on the 24" and prolly a middy gas tube length on the 16".....the buffer tube/spring is matched to the stock,not the gas tube position//barrel length your best bet is to take em out and shoot em before you make changes.. you are prolly gtg :) Wash

Power didnt you say this?? "Anyway.... SUCCESS!!!! 210 rounds and not one single hic-up. I didn't even really clean my stuff from last trip. But since the bolt was apart I had to clean the action up. Put it together, through in the Mobil 1, and ran it all day. 40 rounds of CBC I had left, and the rest was AE 308. My brass looks good, nothing tore up from the extractor... but not one failure to eject. Oh ya, and I changed gas rings too. So this was new rings and the new JP Rifles 308 extractor. Why dont you leave it the frick alone now that its working and doing exactly what you have wanted it to do after all this time, and pages of threads of it not doing what you wanted ? :wtf: <laughs> Wash

Well last saturday nite we prepped 2 racks of ribs for sunday....yikes rainout on sunday...so the racks marinated until monday fired up the smoke daddy along with the green mountain smoker.....4 hours at 220 spritzing apple juice every hour foiled em for 1 hour with apple juice and cranked up the heat to 250......tasty... dont need no stinkin sauce....Ha :) Wash

So im kinda wanting to build something...I come up with this great idea.ill approach Char with the idea that ive got a whole bunch of spare parts and we can build her another 6.8 which is her fav....and not spend very much cause we have all these parts laying around. So I gather up a RR NM trigger group.Jp yellow springs,a shorty arp muzzle brake, spikes car h2 buffer,car buffer spring,and a buffer tube,low profile gas block,and a middy gas tube...I take all the stuff and show her the parts and say "we oughta build you another 6.8 with all this stuff..... we got pretty much what we need !" she busts a gut and sez..."Honey wheres the upper,lower,bolt and carrier....and where's the barrel ,handguard and butt stock...and I dont see a scope either?" :evil5: daaamn busted! So, we went to the gunshow and she bought the upper/lower....then she sez "the rest is up to you honey" :ove3: so I found an arp socom 16" barrel brand new with a DD bolt on the 68 forum.....The Mod there had it tucked away these are unobtainium. a few other parts and we are gtg <laughs> Wash

Ard you should be thinking of what optics you are gonna put on this weapon, because that will be in the mix....what are your thoughts on the optics you are gonna use? If you need guidence on this...the guys will help im sure....98Z is our optics Guru :) Wash
