  1. So, do you have to pull the gas block/system? And that you get to keep all the parts that you may have to pull to make it compliant right?
  2. And he's not saying that in a mean, dick-ish way, man. We've seen all sorts of guys argue about what they want to build, or justify why they bought this part, or that part. And then mother fuk any of us that stand in their way, when we're only trying to help other guys get what they want out of their rifles. These things were designed and built to a specific standard. But a lot of the manufacturers (or parts vendors) have strayed from that standard. Then tried to cover it up by tweeking other parts of the operating system. You can't out-think the machine. We're just trying to help out.
  3. Stick with quality barrels, toolcraft BCG's, and an Armalite recoil system (buffer system) and you'll be okay. You're on the right path my brother.
  4. It's a stock. I built her from the ground up. She's a fully legal SBR. Once you start dancing with the ATF with NFA stuff, you don't fuk around. It's not worth the pain that can follow along with it. You'd actually be surprised at how smooth it shoots for being a short barreled 308. It's a Noveske barrel that I built onto an Armalite receiver set that I had on hand. No AGB on this thing. If you look up Noveske "Leonidas project", you can probably find some videos that they put out a long time ago. Though I think that they've brought it back recently......maybe....I could be wrong about that. Hey.......SBR's are fun. If nothing else. MK-18 (556) 300 BLK (it's also had one of the EoTech 553's put on it) DSA Arms FAL OSW 11" (yeah yeah, not an AR) A POF P308 (piston driven) 12" And there's more. Like I said. I went through an SBR phase a couple years back.
  5. Absolutely nothing wrong with Aero stuff my man. I personally don't have any since I went the Armalite way (different pattern). But others around here have, and nobody has anything bad to say about them. And, you're right about the "buy once, cry once". We've all found that out, one way or another.
  6. I think that I like the way our man is thinking here.
  7. I agree my man. The Elcan on my shorty is nice for quick acquisition out to (some) distances. But I also like the idea of snapping on some different glass for some longer experiments.
  8. Yeah, Greg (not GREG) and I had been poppin that target (with rifles, just playing around) until Larry hit that sumbitch. We just rolled out and moved on to drinking and bull$hittin at that point (if I remember correctly). Fukin Larry.........he ruins everything. Fukin Lurch.
  9. Ok. That's a pretty fair assessment.
  10. I agree. 308's will bang steel at 500 yards, regardless of barrel lengths. This picture was from last fall's meet-up in the desert. Just about middle of the screen (from our elevated shooting position) was one of the targets at just under 500 yards (if I remember). I was hitting that with the SBR in the picture that I showed earlier. And I'm no great marksman.
  11. I'm liking that. I can see that I'll have to give them some business here soon.
  12. You know me too well brother.
  13. I'd have to agree about using a 308 SBR for home defense/house clearing. It's just waaayyyyyy too much rifle for that purpose. BUT........that being said.....I do love my 12.5" AR-10. I kinda went through an SBR frenzy a couple years ago. You're probably starting to figure out just how deep in the "Fuk me" pool that you jumped in to. If you can think about it....more than likely, somebody around here has built it or bought it. But we'll be more than happy to help you spend your money.
  14. Sell? What's this "sell" thing I hear about from time to time? I've never sold anything. Now....I've given parts away, TO FRIENDS, but I've never sold a single thing. Don't plan to at this point either.
  15. I love the name of the brewery. That should be the name of the company I work for. Daywalker will understand that.
  16. Welcome from Maryland PoolShark. If you get a chance to hang out with Matt, take him up on it. He's a good guy. I'm proud to call him a friend. Just be ready though.....he's got a potty mouth on him.
  17. Welcome aboard from Maryland.
  18. Welcome aboard from Maryland.
  19. One word. YES. But I still don't wanna talk to her.
  20. Welcome from Maryland.
  21. I like this man's frame of mind.
  22. I broke down and have a 15 stripped upper coming from Armalite to go with my Armalite SPR lower, for my 6.5 Grendel MK12 build. Already having the lower, I figured that I'd keep the receiver set all Armalite for this build. Even though I have other stripped uppers in stock. I guess that they'll just have to go to other builds.
  23. Welcome aboard from Maryland.
  24. I'm on your side already.
  25. Yeah. Keep in mind that between the handguard, PEQ rail, sights......it's gonna be somewhere in the 800 dollar plus range. If not more, depending on where the parts are found. PRI stuff isn't exactly cheap. BUT, those are the parts that were spec'd for the MK12. Fuk me. Fuk you too.
