Yes! Our planet (this rock) has been circling the sun for approximately 4 billion years. And we're supposed to think that the tens of thousands of years that our ape-like selves have been crawling around on it, or more specifically, the couple hundred of years since the industrial revolution has caused a major impact in how it's ecosystem functions? Who's to say that it's not a natural occurring phenomenon of the planets' orbit? Over time, it's orbit may shift gradually (minutely) outward to cause it to drift (just a little) farther. Bringing on what was referred to as the Ice Age. Or, it's orbit may reduce just by that same amount. Bringing on, the dreaded.....Climate Change....Global Warming....Dogs and Cats living together.....complete insanity. OR......we just learn how to adapt and deal with it.....as humans have since the dawn of time. When dealing with nature.....nature always has the upper hand. Because it's operating on a scale of forces that we can't control. All we can do, as a species, is adapt. An electric car, or a hydrogen car, or a solar panel, a windmill, or a magic green new deal isn't going to stop nature.
