Flat Dark Earth New Attempt at an "Assault Weapon Ban" editorial by ~BCH~ So, again it didn't take long for the same old bunch of career politicians up on the Hill to shamelessly use the deaths of people in Colorado to try and sneak through a new Assault Weapons Ban attached to the tail of the much needed Cyber-Security Bill. At the head of the pack, good ole Chuck Schumer, Democrat Senator from New York who see's it fit to deprive us law abiding citizens (who make up the vast majority of Americans) of more of our rights because one(or a few) deranged psychopaths commit acts of murder with firearms despite the fact there are over 20,000 guns laws including laws to prevent mental patients like James Holmes from acquiring any kind of firearm. With people like Chuck Schumer, it's always a matter of give them and inch of "reasonable gun laws" and they will drag their definition of "reasonable" a mile which actually means the eventual total disarmament of private citizens. It's quite interesting that people like Chuck Schumer and Harry Reid have heavily armed body guards and it's well known that Harry Reid has a large collection of firearms including Semi-Automatic Rifles(so called Assault Rifles) but like all true to form hypocrites they only want to preserve their own elitist right to self protection and only allow those employed by the Government to be armed and empowered over the rest of the population. It is safe to say that many in this Nation are running out of patience with/growing tired of elitist career politicians like Chuck Schumer and their acrimonious disdain of the rights and way of life of a huge number of American citizens. Most of us are not only tired of the former mentioned but also of their woeful mishandling of many aspects of power and management within the charge of their respective oaths of office and blatant disregard for the Constitution and our rights within it. Perhaps the time has come for change in the face of this blatant arrogance and abuse of power. They ignore our voice and our rights, because "We the People" act with civility and uphold the rule of law while they don't hesitate to trample us to assert more and more laws and control over us at the expense of our liberty. If these elitist dug-in career politicians can't be ousted by normal means, perhaps it's time we all peaceably but forcibly act in a manner they cannot ignore and give them every reason to reexamine where they stand as well as where the rest of us stand......
