How hard is it to add the Armalite Super SASS forearm and gas block to my rifle? Does anyone know of anyone who has one they want to sell that is in very good condition?? thanks for any help.

Very nice Z, looking good!

Actually no it does not set it up too high for the prone position, it's the GG&G version, great piece works very well. Heavy Duty XDS.

Well the guy from Nightforce called me back and the OD measurements I took were dead on, so if I go with Butler Creek, then it would be #19 & # 51 respectively. I do like those "Alumina" ones, nice looking and will take a look at the above Weaver brand. Thanks for the suggestions and help.

Ok so I borrowed a digital mic, a good one Brown/Sharpe, it is calibrated. I measured the front outside objective lens area and came up with 65MM or 2.559 inches and on the eyepiece I came up with 44MM or 1.7365 inches, does this sound right and if so, according to the Butler Creek chart I would need a #19 Eyepiece and a #61 Objective, does that sound right??? The scope is a new one from Nightforce it is the ATACR scope 5-25x56.

Thank you both!! How do I figure out the eyepiece size?? Get someone to mic it?

Does anyone make flip open scope covers for a 56mm objective lens? I went to Butler Creek, but couldn't make heads or tails of their site over there, thanks for any help.

Buffer, Spring, Tube set up will this work???
eagle10 replied to AR-Ghost's topic in General Discussion
I use the Tubb CS spring along with Slash's Heavy Tungsten buffer and I love it! My rifle recoil is less than my AR15, incredible and I have had other people shoot it now and they also agree it's awesome. I know some disagree with the combo, just my .2c....... -
I have finally finished my first AR10 build, started from a stripped lower I got about 4 years ago that laid around for a long time. Started working on it a little here and a little there 2 years ago. Thanks to Robocop1051, Rsquared and a few others for all the suggestions and great advice. Just got the scope on it yesterday. I also plan on taking off the red rubber cap that says Zerostop, just left it on for the pics. Thanks for looking!

I am happy to say that I finally got the scope, 14 weeks was the wait, but it sure looks worth it. I am going to post pics of my build finally in a new thread.

Man that's one bad chick!

I guess that I should but, time will tell their tell. Give'em enough rope, they will either make something constructive with it or hang themselves with it.......

I was not very impressed with the Appleseed shoot, biggest thing was I took my son to this, that maybe they would teach him more than I have been able to. They treated him and 2 other young boys there like they had the plague or something because they were the only 3 there running .22 LR M4 look alikes and everyone else had Ruger 10/22's. Plus that whole idea of using that sling up your arm like that, I'm not very impressed with unless your going to do NRA Highpower shooting and they will have you do that. Their history lesson on about April 19th 1775 was Awesome however, we really did enjoy that part. I would not recommend an Appleseed shoot to someone, but a I'm more of a tactical class kinda guy, just me. My son did enjoy shooting a 100.00 worth of .22 LR, so I guess it was worth it to see him have fun, he's just a little guy anyways. Plus I think I intimidated the instructors with my knowledge and I'm not bragging here, it was like they seen what I was doing and dare not say anything to him, strange. My .2c.....

Gee, I think they forgot me, uhh week 11 ending and 12 starting. I called Larue and they told me another 4 weeks...... :-[

I have a friend of mine that believes in polishing the feedramp on everything he's got, does it for many other folks as well. Mine is stock and doesn't look like it would hurt anything to polish it, what is you thoughts on this? Thanks for the help.

Congratulations, sounds nice!

Week 5 is now over, gee, #6 is coming up, ahhh that wait is terrible.......

I love my B.A.D. safety selector......
-
Wow, well I hope they keep it to within their stated 3-8 week time-frame. That's not very encouraging though...... :'(

Just an update, still waiting on the glass, starting 4th week and counting.....

NoFail very nice looking piece there my friend, I like, glass looks good as well, proud for you! I'm waiting on my glass, so I understand your enthusiasm.

Usually we grill out with the family, fly the American flag, but this year I'm going to spend it out at a shooting range hosted by NRA High Power shooting Juniors(fundraiser)something very different.....

Ok I am thoroughly impressed with the little bit of recoil this rifle has. It doesn't seem to kick as much as an AR, if that. I even let 2 friends shoot it while I was breaking in the barrel and they we're like, WOW, this thing doesn't even kick at all. One of them had shot a friends FN FAL and said it felt like it was knocking his eye out of socket. We we're all IMPRESSED with this combo on parts, Robo, thanks to you man, I bought that heavy buffer. Thank You! This rifle is a dream to shoot. :))

I've never done it(broke one in per manufacturers specs) on anything I have ever owned and can't really tell a difference. ??? Maybe it will make a difference on this one, soon as my glass comes in, we're going to find out......
