  1. We've had a few days in the 80s already... should be in the low 70s. I hate getting screwed out of spring again. Hell, I've already gotten 2 mosquito bites!!!
  2. Welcome from central Texas!!!
  3. I'm located in Colorado County. We are equidistant between Houston, San Antonio, Austin & Victoria. I normally do my shooting here at the ranch since I have stations set for 25, 50, 100 & 200 yards, however I wouldn't be adverse to shooting elsewhere to meet some others here... especially some longer ranges.
  4. Guns, Gear, and Gadgets. Just a guess...
  5. Thanks for the heads-up. I sometimes use gunbroker for certain items & will pass this info on to my friends.
  6. Tom, that there is a good pig & just how I like to see them (DEAD)!!! I have a love/hate relationship with them... love to shoot them for their meat & I hate them for tearing up our pastures. Suckers got us again last night... GRRRR...
  7. Totally legal here. I have the mount already picked out... although the cost of a full body mount will 'hurt' for sure. Mrs. Ranch wasn't thrilled but I told her it would be an investment... she is slowly coming to understand after hearing about folks losing calves, dogs, etc. Now if I could just get a shot at it... I'm willing to bet that LA. has them too. They are elusive.
  8. Thanks, Edge. She was my winter project since my old one was too small to do venison jerky in any real volume (now I can do about 3 deer at a crack). It will also do 12 briskets at a time. If you're close by, let me know.
  9. Now that I'm retired, I get to 'play' in the woods & go fishin' a lot more. I also enjoy gardening (even built a greenhouse). I like spending lazy days smokin' meat & drinking a nice cold beer with my wife & dogs. <thumbsup>
  10. Howdy neighbor!!! Let's hook up when you're ready to kill some pigs, I'm just down the road from you in Colorado County!!!
  11. You definitely have a keeper!!! Many are not as understanding of our 'vices'. I have one too & wouldn't trade her if a gun was pointed at my head. <thumbsup> <thumbsup> <thumbsup>
  12. I went with the ADM-Recon 20MOA (30mm). No problems thus far, it is solid & maintains zero. <thumbsup>
  13. Colorado County, Texas. We are equidistant between Houston, San Antonio, Austin & Victoria. Since Labor Day, numerous reports have come in (including a confirmed kill of a 150 lb. female about 20 miles from us).
  14. When it's not on me, I keep it next to my wallet & truck keys. This way I never forget it...
  15. I got into it mostly for hunting purposes. While I normally would use my Browning 300mag. on deer & pigs, I am lucky when I get 2 pigs at a time... Also last Labor Day, I saw a puma, I actually saw it through a scope on my AR15 & was so shocked that I never pulled the trigger. While I have killed a lot of pigs with head shots with the 'mouse gun', I wasn't going to screw around with a small bullet on a puma. It has pretty much cleaned out a 900 acre high-fenced area. This was my main reason. I also love shooting longer ranges, so I talked Mrs. Ranch into it. <lmao>
