  1. Noreen Firearms looks like they are on a pretty good track because they are offering a number of calibers besides .300 WM. Like D.R.D, I would love to see reciever sets available so I could build an AR in 7mm Rem Magnum... I already load and shoot it out of a Ruger #1, why not an AR? I don't have anything in .300 WM. Yet.
  2. I'm in complete agreement with you. I've owned a newer Savage rimfire rifle, and it can't hold a candle to my old Winchester Model 69. For $500 you could pick one up from gunbroker and have quite a bit left over for mounting a scope (or ammo- if you can find it ;)). I've shot the Marlin 2000 in the summer biathlon competition, and they are nice rifles, but I have never found one locally, and the prices they want for one on Gunbroker astounds me. Here's a photo of a pair of shooters/runners (with their Marlin 2000 club guns) after a summer biathlon competition:
  3. I just finished a pistol upper in .300 BLK. I mostly shoot it with a suppressor attached, but I have shot it some without the suppressor. The muzzle flash is impressive to say the least, out of the 8 1/2" barrel. So far, only 125gr Nosler with Lil' Gun powder, and reformed surplus LC cases. I have a bunch of 110gr M1 carbine bullets that I've shot through a 16" upper. That worked quite well, but since I only have one set of dies, I'm loading up all the 125gr projectiles before I set the seating die back for the 110gr round nose. Then we'll see if I can shoot inexpensive, plinker loads through the pistol, too.
  4. If all this gets sorted out, anybody who owns a .22lr pistol or rifle should have their head examined if they don't get a case of ammunition. Not a brick- that can be gone in a day if you are having fun- but an honest 10 pack of bricks- 5000 rounds. If they don't then they are just going to repeat the cycle over again the NEXT time this happens.
  5. Don't worry guys, I'm used to it. I am not a salesman, it's definately NOT in my genes. If I bought the most wanted thing in the world, overnight nobody else would want it and would start telling me to PAY them to take it away. It's been that way all of my life. I put some items up for sale at the local gun shop (pricing things the same way I did with the BCG) and I have to wait a few weeks until someone calls me and asks me to be more reasonable on the cost! Even now, during this craziness. And yet, that same guy will go to a show and buy an inferior product for twice what I'm asking. I tell them that I don't have to sell the item, it can sit in my safe for a few years more. I've given up trying to understand. I just roll with it now.
  6. IWI seems to be getting it's operations based in the USA organized, and they are starting to ship rifles. They are not clear as to whom are the distributers, but Atlantic Firearms has them up for preorder. The price isn't bad considering all the craziness of late, and the fact that a few AR-15's are being sold for the same amount. Let's just hope that their production doesn't get prematurely halted by legal problems... Here's the link to Atlantic Firearms' Tavor page: http://www.atlanticfirearms.com/component/virtuemart/shipping-rifles/tavor-sar-flattop-16-5-barrel-detail.html?Itemid=0 The 9mm and 5.45 caliber conversions are going to be available by the end of april. Everybody needs to hop onto IWI's facebook page and request that they offer a caliber conversion to .300 Blackout!
  7. I love their sense of humor-
  8. I don't believe the magazine craze will be permanant, either. I wouldn't let this stop you from considering an DPMS setup. They definately are less expensive than a RRA, for a base line build. Last time I checked, CDNN had metal C Products .308 magazines. That was a few days ago, unfortunately, I can't vouch for this week.
  9. I guess I could, but I've had this bolt in my safe for a couple of years now. Instead of collecting dust, maybe it would be better if someone who needs it gets ahold of it. Did I mention that it is brand new, and never inserted into a rifle? If I forgot to mention it, this is an UNUSED bolt carrier assembly.
  10. I've ordered pistols from KY Imports a long time ago. If you wanted cheap police trade-in Glocks, they had batter prices than SOG or CDNN. I haven't seen a sale flyer from them in probably 2-3 years. I never had any problems with them, and my local FFL recieved the pistols without any problems. A good place to conduct business with.
  11. WTS: DPMS stock LR-308 bolt carrier assembly. Comes with an extra retaining pin. Sitting on my desk waiting to ship. $350 shipped, postal MO only. Thanks, gunbunny
  12. Sorry, I have to go for the classic: Jaguar XKE And another classic: Willys CJ-3A As for bikes: Aprilia RS250 (nothing like an 80hp 250!)
  13. AR pistols are great! Mine has changed a bit since this photo, but it runs perfect. I replaced the ACE tube with a RRA pistol tube, changed the grip to an MOE K grip, and had my gunsmith shorten an A2 flash suppressor by parting it off at the last band and rethreading it. It works great, but... I recently ordered a 7.5" .300 Blk barrel from Red X Firearms since I just started shooting .300 Blk and am very impressed with that caliber. I have most of the parts needed to make the .300 Blk upper. Once that barrel gets here, it will be installed pronto, so now would be the time to have any machining done. I would LOVE to have a side charging handle for it. Where did you have that work done?
  14. Nothing on their website as of yet. I just checked the ammunition section and only see the subsonic .22lr that is out of stock. It would be nice to see this for sale. Actually, I would like to see their load data for it; I have a bag of .311 dia, 180gr round nose bullets that I can resize to .309 very easily. I would like to have a subsonic load for my rifle, as I have loaded 110gr M1 carbine bullets (work supprisingly well) and 125gr Nosler ballistic tips. I've been using Hogdon's Lil' Gun.
