  2. It is time for the 6.5x284Norma to have a can.. so i bought a Dead air Nomad TI titanium just weighs 9 oz... now the wait begins... Yawn!
  3. It is very real I have never heard the shot Nor was it loud when i shoot a elk or bear you are tunnel visioned and everything else is blocked out. Now when i played music live it was the same thing but different , when you are on stage and the crowd is going nuts and you are in your happy place it is not loud the amps are kicking A$$ but you are not getting negative $hit from them BUT!!! when you really do not want to be up there and the crown is quiet and boring the loudness is extreme it hurts results are I have tendinitis Bad my ears ring 24 /7 I have hearing aids and do not wear them and I am hard of hearing but i did it to myself.. don't make that mistake protect your ears....
  4. on Amazon Prime got a free month watched Reacher was epic now watching a western with Emily Blunt called The English is is awesome.....
  5. works for me ....... :)😁
  6. It will take some doing to get it stuck there maybe super glue or a hammer and nails but I will try i am a visual learner need to sit down with you and see how it is done to get the idea.... 🙂
  7. That was a great interview, what a down to earth guy he is Killing has a way of getting under the skin and it is personal I know for me as a young man i wanted to provide for the family and hunting was the way i chose but in my later years the killing became more spiritual if that makes sense, i don't like the killing part but i understand it is part of the circle of life and sometimes necessary... thanks for sharing this i need to learn Nerd magic...
  8. Yep burn rate ,barrel length, barrel make, primer when you get it all working together it is a awesome thing........
  9. I can tell by looking that that bipod is unstable because the BCG behind it does not have enough lube on it ......
  10. yep 51 grains then 51.3, then 51.6 then 51.9 then 52.2etc....... my bad... Example my 6.5x284 Norma when i developed the load when i got to 48.2,48.5 and 48.8 they all were within 2 FPS velocity I took 48.5 as my load no need to test further as all three were the same velocity i took the middle so i was good either way.. seated some berger 140 hybrids at 20 thou, off the lands shot two three shot groups had slightly stringing so i went to 30 shot two at 400 both center hits shot two at 800 both hits and shot three at 1k 2 out of three hits.. this load took total 23 rounds I am now in the 500 round range with this load and it still shoots sub 1/2 inch at 100 at 2968 FPS...and it shoots long targets as well as short.. this way worked for me, others mileage may very but this system works for all calibers and saves components... the last 6 shot string i choreographed was .... 2975,2970,2968,2968,2968and 2966 es of 9 and sd of 3.6 i can live with those numbers.......
  11. In this day of components being scarce, I like the ladder method for finding optimal charge weight and I go in .03 grain increments till I have a node that shows me a real flat spot where increments of 2 or three all show the same velocity then i know that powder charge is good and my barrel likes it , then I just have to find bullet seating depth. the whole process can be done in less that 30 rounds and has given me my very best long range loads....
  12. This is a great topic, with you tube and many other video channels I have seen a disturbing amount of former Military people show that appendix carry with a striker fired weapon is the only way to go.. I am sorry but I call bull$hit...what is the first thing we learn about guns as a child NEVER point ANY GUN at anything you do not want to destroy! that includes your Junk, leg, thigh, etc... OK rant over anyway I have carried concealed for over 40 years always one in the pipe ,if you ever need it you need it NOW not 3 ,4,or 5 seconds later! If you are not comfortable with one in the pipe then i suggest you get more training ,shoot more, and practice till you are, OR do NOT Carry and I agree with the danger of striker fired weapons they have their place with the right people with the right training but they are not a beginners gun.. I have carried 45acp cocked and locked for a very long time when I transitioned to 9 mm I went through several pistols till I found what I was comfortable with guess what it has a hammer and is single action double action with a decocker..... it is just the way I roll your mileage may very but know your weapon inside and out like it was a old pocket knife.
  13. It is a shooting weekend for sure the Boomer shoot is going on this weekend Fri,Sat. and Sunday (dynamite shoot) and the gong shoot is going on this is the final weekend championship shoot I was in fourth till yesterday fell down the board a bit (wind) but I have a chance to win yet the championship shoot weekend you can shoot both days but can only choose one of them for score so I got to get busy today.....

  16. I loved shooting in the desert, It was such a change from shooting over steep canyons and the winds was a bitch BUT it was steady and in the mornings I could see all my traces the mile was tougher to see trace as it went out of scope sight I wonder how high that 140 went ,anyway i like shooting in the desert....
  17. when I hunted bears full time I carried a ruger Number 3 in 4570 and shot 405 grain bullets behind 49 grains of 3031 IMR that little fuker would kick the crap out of you but it was hell on bears in thick cover , but the worst beating i ever took at the hands of a gun was a win,458 Mag with 500 grain round nose I fired it offhand ONCE... I thought I had lost a tooth fuk that!
  18. ha ha ha That gun is a fun one to shoot I am in 4th position in the Gong shoots with two more weekends to go and she is really shooting well I intend to get every ounce I can out of the 6.5 Creedmoor... AND I just bought a new can for the 6.5 x284 a Dead Air Nomad TI Titanium just weighs 9 OZ.
  19. Freeking awesome sermon Brother Tom the pics make the words just jump into my heart! Amen! I totally get it comparing Bolt to semi I use a 2 thou mandrel to set my neck tension on the 6.5 284 and check everything through the chrono I will set a crimp that will be just enough to hold the bullet in place and then chrono them and adjust my load to get a good SD that should get me accuracy.. ok off to the loading room thank you everyone and Brother Tom see you on Sunday!.... 🙂
