  1. Yeah mine only took about 3.5 hrs to cook. I think when you brine they cook a lot faster for some reason :cookoo: I do not even want to look at a turkey for a while. We also had a ham that was good. And same here I can probably cook way better than shooting. Hell my wife refuses to cook anymore and leaves it up to me most of the time <lmao>
  2. They steal anything of value around here. They were stealing guardrails off of bridges. I even had a friend at a local Ford dealer tell me they were stealing the drivelines out of the Superdutys as they were a special alloy.
  3. Well just found another hobby on the gun board <thumbsup> I love to BBQ and also have a WSM to smoke anything and everything on. Just did a 18lb turkey for thanksgiving. Brined it in a Jack Daniels maple syrup combo for 48hrs. One of the better birds if you ask me  Will have to start taking pics of my meals now <laughs>
  4. Has anyone used this? http://www.midwayusa.com/product/760543/pri-upper-receiver-takedown-pin-vise-block-ar-15-ar-10 I noticed it works for both the .308 and the .556. Saves me from having to buy 2.
  5. Ok being is this is my first build what is recommended requirement for tools? I see a lot and wonder what is needed and what is just extra. I have a armorers tool already. Looking at all the tools it can make your head spin <laughs> Thanks <thumbsup>
  6. Thanks guys for the response <thumbsup> It has been years but I did reload at one time when I was younger for my 7MM. The guy I learned from passed away and was a wealth of knowledge. I plan on the SS and have been eying Cabelas as the RCBS Rockchucker Supreme kit is on sale for 249.99. Only issue I need parts to finish my build <laughs> so reloading might be on the back shelf until the new year.
  7. I would say yes to that also but to my surprise I emailed Cobratactical today and within 2 hours of email I have a response <thumbsup> Long story short my DPMS chrome BCG is on it way to its new home  Sad part they had 2 on there website and by the time I got the email thy were down to one :(
  8. You are not telling me anything <laughs> I had to search high and low for the BCG. As it is Rainier does not have the 18" barrel in stock so going with the 16" probably. I figure for what I want it for it is still all good 16" out to 500 should be fine.
  9. ok my screw up. Saw your pic and thought well then saw .223 :-[ Looking for a .308 and remembered Lee does not work for .308 in the turret.
  10. Any update on this? I am looking a getting started myself. I have looked and looked and still not sure what to get. I would love a single stage to start out but at the same time why not just step up the plate and get a Dillon 650 and just start spitting it out <thumbsup> At the rate these things can eat ammo hand loading might take a while for a few hours of fun <laughs> If I still had my 700 bolt gun single stage all the way!
  11. Count me in on a group buy if and when it happens. Working on a MaTen now but they are like potato chips you cant just have one <thumbsup>
  12. Waiting on my MaTen to hit my FFL. Also a few parts from PSA and a BCG from Cali. Ordering the rest from Rainier once I figure the rest out <thumbsup>
  13. Hello, Stumbled upon the forum doing a search for my new build. First time building an AR from parts so ought to be fun. Starting of with a MaTen upper and lower and going from there. Well back to reading all the posts <thumbsup>
