  1. Spro Black Widow poppin' frog or a 5" watermelon/black pepper Senko wacky rigged on a drop shot <thumbsup>
  2. <----Huge largemouth bass fanatic here. Learning the water and ways of SoCal freshwater fishing is a challenge. I have considered starting a blog on it just to share my experiences, trials and tribulations with others so they learn something or what not to do. Fishing consumes most of my time. Notice I said fishing and not catching <laughs> Growing up I competed in local tournaments in the Mid-West and could hold my own; however, the large, very clear and deep water reservoirs out here are completely different. One place I fish has a visibility of close to 30' down. I can't wait for spring and the spawn to start! If I can be of any assistance let me know...I'll post some pics up later of some of my catches.
  3. I cover them in either sun dried tomato vinagerrette (sp) or italian dressing, wrap it foil and throw it in the even. There's been a time or two I'll soak cedar planks over night, lay the filet on a bed of lemon with some fresh dill and "smoke" 'em on the grill.
  4. I live probably 5 mins from their shop. I talked to the guy that works the front counter (heck may even own the place). Seems like good people. Main point in this post was: They had a sign on their door stating they were taking orders now (as of 28 Dec 12) for a May/June delivery. I don't know how that affects online ordering, hower; just thought I'd throw it out there. Just like anywhere else they were busier than all get out too.
  5. If anyone of you all Facebook (who doesn't anymore?) there is a group called 2nd right and they are staging a Nationwide protest at all State Capitals on 8 Feb (I'm afraid it may be a little to late). None the less it is being planned. As for those of us in the military and I can only speak to me; I will not go gun grabbing as our Constitution protects me in the event I would be brought up on charges for disobeying an order. I will be with you all in that line of defense. 1st and last... Seasprite- Also look at the oath that is given prior to a Congressman taking his seat and even the President. Between the military (officer and enlisted), Congressman/woman and the President we all swear or affirm to some sort of protection of the Constitution and it's values. Granted only the military swears to support and defend it from enemies both foreign and domestic.
  6. Just throw a flag on her face and tell it was for the glory of we the people...she'd understand!
  7. I know this thread is old, but damn that was funny! What makes it even better is the whole snopes thing.
  8. It's steady alright and the fam steadily depletes it...LOL! Nah, not really; I just live by the rule it's better to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission! Thanks again everyone!
  9. ^^^What they said, oh...wait, never mind :o LOL, Thanks guys and it's my pleasure having the privilege of being able to serve our country! Truly is or I wouldn't have done it this long! Only problem is now I have to do over 20 years just so a certain individuals "John Hancock" won't be on my retirement certificate ???
  10. Hi, my name is Shane...I like guns A LOT, I've responsibly played with them in public, private, peace time and combat for almost my whole life! Sorry, I always feel like I'm at a meeting when I introduce myself and I can be a smart@$$ sometimes. Anyways, I currently reside in SoCal and am a resident of Kansas (I only go back to KS to see family and hunt); eventually I'll end up a resident of CA as my wife's job will keep us here for another 20 or so years. I like the weather here, but I don't like the gun laws. I've been in the Marine Corps (AD) for almost 16 years now, I'm a husband and father of 3. When I'm not doing the Marine thing I'm either hanging with the family, fishing, hunting, riding my Harley, snowboarding or just chilling in my chair at the house. I have to many interests and not enough time. Tomorrow I will be the proud owner of a DPMS .308 stripped lower; currently waiting for it to be liberated from the Feds or they're waiting for me to cool off, not real sure. I can't remember how I stumbled upon the forum and I have never built an AR/rifle before, but I'm not scared to do a little research and ask questions when they need to be asked. Well that about it sums it up, I'm hoping to learn a lot and get to know some of you all! Happy New Year!
