    I am going to clean the parts by wiping down the parts with denatured alcohol then degreaser solvent. But I will air dry outside in a closed container (vented).

    I'm going to get a toaster oven to bake parts in. There is no way in Hell that I use our oven to bake parts in. On to another project... Any one powdercoat ? Looking at a getting a powder coating gun. Either an Eastwood or a Harbour Freight.

    Disasembled 3 lowers today and took the Slide-Fire stock off Vera and put it on the 9mm AR. Ready to sandblast 2 lowers on Saturday. Should be ready to paint the following weekend ! Next trip to the Desert you had better bring some 9mm ammo ...Cause its on !

    Thats good . I have a qt can of degreasing solvent in the garage. Now I need to sand blast a lower and a reciever extension this weekend.

    Whiskey-Tango-Foxtrot ! Tom you want me to soak the parts in gas then put them in the oven. I don't think so ! I was going to clean them with denatured alchol then spray the parts. So no sanding needed.

    Ok , another stupid question... On the plastic buttstock do I need to scuff it with sandpaper or will wiping it with cleaner be enough ?

    Welcome from AZ ! The only way to wear out take down pin is to run full auto and that still make take 10K rounds or more. No worries. They do sell ovesize pin sets.

    Here is a pic of a POF gun and the owners daughter. We cleared half the range around us at Rio (Usery Pass) doing mag dumps a few years ago.

    I fondeled a 9mm and 40S&W Shield last year before they got released and I really liked them BUT they are much cheaper than the 1911.
