  1. Ya, the scope is pretty badass...and barely legal in Cali! That's not the biggest pineapple I've bagged, got a 36 point 1200 pounder late last year... ?
  2. Finished this one several months ago but haven't had a chance to break it in...
  3. The Punisher (because of the logo on the lower), The Tank (because of all the accessories and how much the friggin' thing weighs), The Intimidator (because of the way it looks) in that order...always seem to end up putting some kind of nickname on them.
  4. Agreed Blue, don't remember what I paid for my UBR but it wasn't full retail. I have a real problem paying full boat on anything, luckily I'm patient and find some pretty good deals by shopping around. I just picked up my PRS stock for my 308 build for $188 brand new saving about $70 over retail, now if I cold just find some mags... ??? Regards, Paul
  5. Got to give a shout out to my boys (and girl) at Nice Shot indoor range here in Redding. These guys hook me up all the time, sound advice, free swag and great service. If you're ever in the area and want to get your "full auto" on, stop by and let Jeff, Andy, Ryan, and Julie take care of you...you're the best! Paul
  6. Amen to that brother, welcome from "The" Northern California...great story Regards, Paul
  7. I run a hydraulic buffer on one of my AR15's (the one pictured in my avatar) from Enidine and have had no issues with it. I noticed the difference after installation, mostly that it shot smoother and got back on target quicker. I'll be running one on my 308 build and hope for the same results, but realize that the difference between a 223 round and 308 will definitely have an impact (no pun intended) on it's performance. Regards, Paul
  8. Thanks guys, I know you've answered my question, I hope Dinan got some good info too. Pretty certain I'm going to save my pennies for the NF... Regards, Paul
  9. Dinan, I'm researching this too and will put my 2 cents in...So far I've looked at Millett, Vortex, NF, and Trijicon. I've physically been able to handle the Trijicon T22-2G, this is a great scope, 2.5-10x56 with nice glass and light weight. Even though I could get a smokin' deal on this scope ($850 vs $1056MSRP) I just felt something was missing...I would love to get the NF NXS 3.5-15x56 with the Velocity 1000 reticle. Price is a few hundred more then the Trijicon,($1449 and up) but I feel like you get alot more scope for the money. On the opposite end the Millett 6-25x56 LRS-1 is only about $479 but has alot of great features and would seem to be a great deal...so too the Vortex Viper 6.5-20x50PA with BDC reticle, it's an affordable scope ($459) with all the right stats and a great name behind it, but I'm reminded of the old adage "you get what you pay for". Not having had the chance to handle these scopes I'm not able to comment on the build quality, so don't misunderstand my previous comment. Millett and Vortex obviously make great scopes, I'm merely asking what separates these scopes from each other by so much monetarily when the numbers seem to favor the less expensive scopes? Glass? Quality of materials? Options? Hopefully the experienced members here can help us understand these questions and even answer a few for us... Regards, Paul
  10. Nice job guys, let me know if you need someone for R & D! Regards, Paul
  11. Hey guys, looked before I posted this and didn't see anybody else had mentioned it yet, Brownells has one 308 barrel in stock and several others available for pre-order. Looks like the only one they had in stock was the 20" medium contour 1-10 twist barrel. Sorry if this has already been mentioned, but I stumbled across it tonight and thought it might be of interest. Regards, Paul
  12. Pappy don't know if you're interested but I know of some Black Rain Ordnance 5.56 barrels in 20" & 24". The 20's a heavy profile with straight fluting on it. Let me know if you're interested, Regards, Paul
  13. Thanks guys, the top 2 are mine, the bottom one is my sons. He doesn't like all the bells & whistles I do so he kept his pretty simple. I on the other hand... :D Top one was my last build, it was the culmination of what I felt I wanted on an AR, it's a Spikes Tactical lower with a YHM complete upper 16" fluted barrel with a Diamond Specter length free float hand guard. Wilson Tactical trigger and a liberal sprinkling of Magpul parts. Weaver Kaspa scope, Kryptonyte green laser and YHM BUIS sites on GG&G 45 degree mounts. Middle one is more CQB oriented, LRB lower, DEL-TON upper and a bucket full of Magpul parts and accessories. Aimpoint PRO optic with a flip to side 7x magnifier from Primary Arms. Here's a pic of #2 with my "fake can" on it and my Eotech configuration. It'd be a toss up between #1 & #2 if I had to grab just one going out the door, let's hope I never have to make up my mind... Regards, Paul
  14. Here's some pic's of my AR's, hopefully the 308 will be joining the family soon... Regards, Paul
  15. Celebrated yesterday due to family having to work today, but it's the thought not the date that counts. Gave my Pop a shooting rest he's been eyeballing and helped him set it up last night...least I could do for the man that taught me how to shoot. I made out pretty good myself, mailman dropped off my Black Rain upper to go with my lower so I'm one step/part closer to completing my build! Happy Fathers Day guys! Regards, Paul
