SKD PIG is my choice. I love it! It's one of the best carriers i've had the pleasure to run. http://www.skdtac.com/PIG-Plate-Carrier-p/pig.502.htm

Got my SSA-E trigger in tonight and my BFG Sling. First up the trigger. It is beautiful. Night and day difference between a stock trigger. Can't wait to actually shoot it. My sling came in as well and I installed and staked the KAC QD receiver plate too. Upper should be here Thursday and then it's just a matter of installing everything and hitting the range hopefully this weekend. Also got my ACS stock in and put it on. I like it much better than the Sopmod on the 308. I also ordered my steel plate setup and cut and drilled the legs and crossbar. There will be a 10" Gong and a 7"x11.5" target hung together. Both are 1/2" AR500 steel. First time shooting steel with a rifle. I figured once the rifle is zeroed it'd be better than having to keep walking to replace targets.

Got my Recon mount in. I also decided today that since it's almost finished I should just order the rest of the parts I wanted. Atlas BT10 bipod w/ LaRue LT271 QD mount BFG Vickers Padded QD Sling KAC Receiver Ambidextrous Sling Mount Magpul ACS stock Geissele SSA-E Trigger Now it's a waiting game for the upper and rest of the parts to arrive.

Yesterday: Today: ADM 34mm Recon mount :)
-
Yeah this doesn't look right.
-
Oh joy! I just received a nice surprise in the mail.
-
I did look at the Brobo, but at $100 or so more, i've settled on the ADM. The GDI is even more. I think the ADM covers all my bases while being relatively cheap. EDIT: Just placed the Mark 6 optic order with Eurooptic....last one they had and the best price I could find by hundreds!
-
I actually think I settled on the Leupold Mark 6 1-6x in an ADM Recon mount. I like the 7.62 reticle, it has FFP, and I've heard great things about it.
-
I'm just waiting for Ayan to put the upper together and then the last thing to handle is the optic. I grabbed a set of KAC 45 degree offset sights from Ayan as well.
-
I was looking at that, but if i'm correct it is an SFP and not FFP which at these prices I require. I want the option to be able to range at any magnification.
-
So i'm waiting for my upper to come back after it's built. From there I need a mount and optic. I'd like to say I will shoot out to 1,000 yards, but the reality is I will have access to a 400 yard range. If I do shoot at longer distances, it wouldn't be often, maybe once or twice a year. I'm pretty set on getting a low powered scope. I'm not really looking to put a 6-24x on it. I want something quality, but the cheaper the better. I have no issue spending $1000 plus mount. Things I want: FFP Mil/Mil turrets/reticle At least 6x magnification at the high end I'm leaning towards a SWFA 1-6x. It comes in at the price point I want, well known quality, and I like the reticle design SWFA SS HD 1-6x24 Tactical 30mm Riflescope I was planning on grabbing that with a SWFA Brobo one piece mount and calling it a day. Then I saw the USO 1-8x SR-8s and kind of fell in love. U.S. Optics 1-8x27 SR-8s 30mm Riflescope Between the two what would you choose? Is the USO worth the extra $. I was also considering the SR-8c which will give me a red dot as well. I'd get it with the Larue LT104 QD mount below: http://www.laruetactical.com/scope-us-optics-sr8-1-8x30-mm-and-qd-scope-mount The common sense portion of my brain tells me get the SWFA and shoot the crap out of the gun, then with the money saved, buy lots more ammo and keep shooting. The other portion tells me get the USO because from everything I read it's an awesome scope and I won't wonder if I should have gotten it down the road. Opinions? Any others I should look into. I do not want a 1-4x. Definitely want at least 6x on the high end. This is will be going on my build which consists of a Lilja 18" barrel.

What do you have on order or in the mail? Part 2
ninjajimmy replied to imschur's topic in General Discussion
3 boxes of Winchester .22 bulk. -
Yeah, 3 weeks and 3 days from time of order to arrival at my door...not to shabby!
-
Just got the barrel in tonight...beautiful!!! Sending everything out tomorrow to Ayan so he can put the upper together.
-
No worries man. It's all good.
-
There was no arguing. I stated exactly what you just said. (i.e. it isn't a drop in part with a DPMS BCG). One thing I did notice is the DPMS LR308 catch is beefier than an AR-15 catch, but like stated, less beefy than the AR-10 catch.
-
No it doesn't, hence the reason I got the DPMS catch. The AR-10 catch has a ramp area that is too tall and doesn't let the BCG travel over it. You would have to grind away material to make the ramp shorter for it to possibly work with a DPMS carrier. Also the AR-10 catch needed to be filed down (thickness) as it was too tight of a fit in the lower.
-
The DPMS LR308 bolt catch works with flying colors.
-
Just got my DPMS catch in. Going to check it tonight.
-
Recevied my ammo and I just paid for my barrel from Lilja Barrels. Two weeks and two days and my barrel is ready to ship! Not too shabby! Once I get it, my upper goes to boltcarrier.com to be put together. Then, it's just mags, sights, and optic.
-
Thanks, but I already have the brake in hand. Only things I'm waiting on are the barrel and rail.
-
I got the lower complete. Just waiting on the Knights trigger guard.

I'm a fan of knives...here are some of mine. My grail...Strider SNG Custom Ken Hall Fighter

I dig it!

Thoughts? PSA AR-15 on left and Armalite AR-10 on right. I can't cycle the DMPS BCG with the Armalite catch in. Angle is too steep. Options: 1. Grind/sand it down so it isn't as tall (the "ramp" would end up being slightly round) 2. Install AR-15 catch 3. Order and install DPMS LR-308 catch and hope it works.
