Is he trying to say that the people here aren't reliable for helping me with my homework? I have to disagree. I think you guys are very knowledgeable and I really appreciate your support. I know I'm green. My gunsmith checked my rifle out before I shot it.

I've been to busy to put this on auction, so here's a bump with a price drop. $1100 with scope $1050 without OBO.
-
Last chance to make an offer before it goes to auction.

This is the half that I'm planning on making. I purchased the lower half for a reasonable price. The drawing shows 12.608 long, but I don't think that is exactly correct. I figured it out by counting the slots in the rail that are made to mil spec standards. The slots closest to the front aren't correct. I figured I'd shorten this one after a test fit. I would think it will end up in the 12.5 to 12.56 range based on appearances alone.

I don't know what they cost, but the ones used on the Armalite national match rifles are about as close as I've seen. I forget all the mod numbers, but the Armalite is not like the first M110 version. I'll check the length when I get a chance.
-
I'm working on an M110 build as well. I have the length written down, but it's not near me at the moment. Off the top of my head, I would have guessed 12.5, but 12 could very well be correct as well. Those numbers are definitely in the ballpark.

Price drop. $1150 with scope $1075 without.

I forgot to point out that it is a blemished receiver. I'm not exactly sure why though. It's real nice.
-
Thanks Shepp. I forgot to point out that it doesn't have a dust cover or forward assist delete yet.

I'm going to sell this or the rifle I posted previously, not both. I'm in Wisconsin near Green Bay. I have this brand new Matrix receiver with a Geissele SSA trigger installed. I did adjust the screw in the lower receiver that puts a little spring pressure against the upper. I tried to picture some minor scractes from the screw driver. The rest is excellent. Brand new. I need to get $350 plus shipping to your ffl.
-
I finally took some new pics.
-
I could upgrade it from the Armalite trigger to a new Geissele SSA for $150.

I'm in Wisconsin not too far from Green Bay.

Price drop. $1250 with scope $1150 without.

I need to sell this rifle to fund other projects. This is an older pic. I will update it when I get a chance or send me a message and I'll get you some pics. It's a complete rifle with charging handle and flash suppressor (not shown). The rifle is in excellent shape with less than 300 rounds through the barrel. Here's the parts breakdown. Aero Precision receiver set Rainier select barrel Armalite adjustable 2 stage trigger nicely tuned with minimal creep and in the neighborhood of 5lb pull on the tightest setting. DPMS BCG Troy hand guard includes 2 small rails not shown. A2 stock some minor skuffs Aero Precision takedown pins and bolt catch PSA lpk FSI Sniper scope (blue and green illumination only) I'm asking $1350 complete or $1250 without the scope.

I shot this one for the first time today. It functioned flawlessly. I'm really happy with the rifle so far. I've got the 2 stage Armalite trigger dialed in pretty good. Just a little hint of creep left. I thought I should shoot it a little before I hone any more metal off. I only shot off-hand so I can't comment on the rifle's accuracy much as I know my off-hand shooting needs work. The flash suppressor showed up and I still need to order the forward assist delete and dust cover.

I put some time into creating a solid model of a butt plate that will work with the M110 stock. I thought I'd share my progress. Not quite finished, but you get the idea.
-
I really wanted to do an 80% as well. The cost factor turned me away. Now I'm shopping for 80% receivers again cause that's what I wanted in the first place.

You need to post a manufacturer and or some pictures of you're receivers. There's a wealth of knowledge here willing to help you out. (I'm referring to the people that have helped me out!) Until you have more to tell us you should take the time to read about what others have done, and this forum is a great place to start. Here's a few pointers. LPK's for 308 seem pretty universal except takedown pins. It's easiest to buy takedown pins direct from your receiver manufacturer. Stocks and buffer assemblies are also pretty universal for 308's.

The first thing you want to do is go to sites like this and sign up to receive the daily and weekly sales adds in your e-mail. (I do like the quality and value of AP sales items.) http://aeroprecisionusa.com/on-sale.html Cheaper than dirt, midway, and surplus ammo are other sites to check out for sales.

If cleanliness and organization count I will lose as well. I built my work bench a few years ago and I'm quite proud of it. Unfortunately I now seem to have more stuff on top than I owned when I built it. It's amazing how stuff accumulates!
-
Aside from the scope, I have been focused on quality. This M14 that I built on a M1 receiver was finished to this point before I started the AR's. It just needs a bolt latch. I'll have to custom build it. I've been shooting it for about 6 months now without the latch.
-
I agree with you guys. I would have spent more and got something nice, but with two and a half rifle builds in progress, frankly, I'm broke. The scope is intended to be temporary until I can afford something nice or I sell the gun. Only time will tell. Right now I just want to shoot! Plus I don't know a whole lot about scopes so this cheepo is a good learning experience for me.

It's bigger than I was expecting. ( that's what she said :) Does that joke date me?) For the price of a new one I'd be really happy with the scope if it was actually new. It's a FSI Sniper. It's the cheapest scope I could find with decent reviews and the options I was looking for. It's 9-24x. 9-20x it seems really good. The last 4x your eye position starts to affect clarity a bit more. That could be due to some of the issues caused by the previous owner though. I didn't need that much power anyway. I just wanted at least 16x and this is what I found.
