JJ Watt is awesome. The Texans and Houston are who I root for in sports. There's a couple others, but Houston is where my heart is.

In my little town of Santa Fe we haven't seen any gouging. There's limited supplies. No bread. No milk. And, very little gasoline. However, we made a grocery run to the local HEB this morning and did get some good groceries. Folks are working together, and I haven't seen anyone get out of line. Neighbors helping neighbors, as it should be.

There's ACTUAL sunshine this morning!!!! We had Air National Guard helo's all around our area last night making rescues. We also had a large deployment of National Guard that deployed on Galveston Island. We have curfews everywhere. We are glad to see help coming for area!! I just want to say publicly how much TEXAS APPRECIATES all of the help we have gotten, and continue to get!! THANK YOU EVERYONE!!

Got word that the evac order was lifted for my facility. The GCWA says the repairs to the levy will. They are 90% sure. My facility moved all the inmates to the second floor of the main building. I volunteered to go in, but they advised to stay home and come in on my regular work day. Also, weather reports are now saying we have dry air moving in. So the rain should be stopping soon.

No, it's the levy that holds in the Galveston County Water Authority reservoir, which is across the street from our facility. It's a large reservoir on the west side of 146 just south of the Dickinson bayou bridge.

This is amazing!! More good news about my mom!!!! Facebook post about my moms place.

ALSO, the Texas City Emergency Management Center lifted the evac order for my facility. They say they're 90% sure the levy is now safe. So, that's more good news!!!

GRA, yes it's a medical facility. It's co gender also. We have pregnant women, women with different medical problems, and men with medical problems. We also have a dorm with trusties that work on the unit. The trusty dorm is immediately across the street from the reservoir. It looks like the evac order was lifted. Facebook post about my facility.

OK, y'all. This is not a good time for my agency, or my facility. I just found out through Facebook that my facility is in immediate danger of a catastrophic breach of the GCWA lake across the street from my facility. I work as a corrections officer at the Carole Young Medical Facility in Texas City, TX. It's a TDCJ prison hospital. I tried calling the unit to get instruction, and couldn't get through. It's eating me up that I can't get to them to help with the evac. Please keep our corrections staff, and the offenders, in y'alls prayers. If the levi breaches, there will be many deaths as a result. They are in a precarious position. I'm currently on my regular days off, today being the first. I offered to stay last night and work my days off, but they sent me home. Now, I wish I'd stayed. My co-workers are like family to me. I've known many of them the better part of 35yrs. PLEASE keep them in your prayers. This is BAD, very bad. Facebook post about my facility.

Facebook post with info toward the bottome regarding 146. I have a friend who is assisting with rescue ops using his jet ski's. 146 is NOT passable in many area's.

Some pics my buddy sent of his place. He lives a couple miles from me. He and his family are staying on the second floor of his home. He's sheltered in place.

Here is a post with some pics from a neighbor of my moms. It's bad up there. My mom and step dad are safe. My oldest daughter and son are too. They are in Huntsville staying in my sons apartment. My family is safe. Recovery from the losses will take time. Their safety is all I care about though. Facebook post on my mom.

I live South of Houston, and work as a corrections officer in a facility in Texas City. Harvey has been kicking our azz down here. At my house we've experienced severe flooding. I've had over a foot of water in my downstairs. We've got food and water, and we have dry living quarters up stairs. So, we are good. However, many folks are not. My mom lives in a neighborhood south of Lake Conroe. They are currently releasing huge amounts of water from the Conroe dam, and it's flooded my moms place. They've been through this before, and they took their camper and vehicles to a KOA north of lake Conroe. They are safe, but have lost everything at their home. A neighbor sent them pics.

To my Texas friends check drivetexas.org . They show maps of current road conditions, flooding, road closures.

Dickinson is bad. I have several staff members that live there. They're flooded horribly. Dickinson is under mandatory evac.
-
Will do. I actually come in from the hwy 3 side as I live in Santa Fe. I'll post an update soon.
-
My facility is located just south of Dickinson, between hwy146 and hwy3 on Atwater Ave on the north side of Texas City.

Negative!! Was not passable late yesterday. I had three officers trying to get to work that way. They were stopped at the Kemah bridge due to flooding. I also had officers stopped at the Dickinson bayou bridge on 146 due to flooding. If the rain stops the water recedes fairly quickly. The rain hasn't stopped since late last night.

This was on my way to work, day before yesterday I think. It's hard to remember. This storm has been kicking our azz for several days. IMG_1924.MOV

At the base of my steps the water was about 2 ft deep.
