When I moved to Florida, I needed durable shorts. I went to the mall, and saw junky shorts for $65. On my way home I saw an military surplus store, and stopped in just for fun. And I discovered Rothco clothing. They make bdu's, jackets, boots, lots of stuff. I really like their shorts, bdu's, boots, and boonie hats. They are very durable, thick fabric, soft texture, and well made. I go fishing, shooting, turning wrenches, beach, and so on. I like the Vietnam tiger stripe because it doesn't show grease stains. They make every camo pattern, or solid color. I'm getting shorts for $30. I'm very satisfied with them. The only complaint is the threads on the buttons. I would prefer button fly, like Levi's 501. But these are sewn, and the thread could be stronger. To make the stitching last longer, wash in cold water. But this is good outdoor clothing, and a great value. There are videos on YouTube doing reviews. Check it out. Peace

To anyone else who wants to play along, these are easy to make. For android users, download "meme generator, or gif generator". They take a minute to make. And folks can use these to bring new folks here to participate. They're fun!

I've never put a trigger in an AR before. This was my first one. I put the match spring and watched the videos. The first screw on the bottom is the first stage. I went all the way clock wise, and the the trigger doesn't fire. So I went counter clockwise about 2 full turns until the trigger lets go. And searched for that sweet spot around there. That made my first stage heavy, about 2lbs. The next screw is the actual trigger. I set it heavy enough to create that wall, about 10-14 ounces. If it's too light, itll pull through, with isn't good. A 2 lb. first stage is still very light. If it's too light, for me, it's a safety issue. I definitely feel a 2 stage trigger is much safer. I don't feel the match set up is too light or unsafe. My rifle came with a decent single stage, but I like a 2 stage much better, to have that warning engagement.

I like "trip hop". Heavy bass, down tempo, relaxing beats. No real lyrics per say, just clips mixed in. "The elevator music for Generation X". Plenty of 3 hour videos on YouTube, which I just put on, and go about my work. https://youtu.be/kQtFHZHAedo

My GLOCK 26 Gen 5, which I really like. It's been running great. I'm tempted to customize it, but really I feel like it's fine just the way it is.

Its probably the disconnector. They just need to be polished most likely to fix these.

So I'm shopping for a new holster and I found this. I like it a lot. This is for carrying a full size gun all day in the rough. Chest mounted is definitely my preference. Trying to hike with a large gun is definitely cumbersome. The draw is pretty quick for critters. Made by a family owned business in Montana. A compact version can be had for CC, and is an option. It has versatility, to where you can move the gun to where ever is needed. This system is slick. Easy on, easy off. Made by: https://paradisevalleyleather.com They offer a group discount also. I'm probably ordering in a week or so. If you're interested, pm me, and we'll see if we can get a coupon for a few bucks.

What made you decide to move to the 308 AR/AR-10 Platform?
Exhail replied to imschur's topic in General Discussion
The main reason why I like the .308 is because I can't afford a 50. I like to shoot, but I also like sailing, and vacations. The .308 is such a versatile round, and "middle of the road" in price. And just plain fun! But if I ever win the lottery 🤣 -
Ya, now I need to quit smoking, to afford ammo lol. Ya, that club has a great range with 3 gun competition, and every other type of competition. And a ton of classes for training. I'm going to take their long range class. It should help speed up the learning process. Once I kinda get the feel of things, I'm going to jump right into long range competition. If I'm spending all this money on equipment, mind as well. Plus I'll meet others who can give me tips. I like this club, because even if I'm not shooting that day, I can spectate a 3 gun match, or whatever. A cool place to hang out, and see some good shootin.

Thanks for the heads up! I'm so thankful for the internet. It's so easy to look this stuff up. Ya, I'm going to practice inside 500 yards with the 147s. I realize with a 1 and 10 twist, my rifle prefers 170s. I'm going to look into reloading, so that at least my ammo is consistent. I figured just get some cheap stuff to get familiar with the mechanics of my optics and learn the grid.

Volusia County Gun Club, close to New Smyrna Beach. My new home away from home. Since I gave up drinking, bars just don't interest me anymore. Gotta have some place to hang out.

Thanks! I thought about buying another AR15 for practice costs. But that's a whole other headache setting that all up. I just bought some 147 grain from Brownells for .45 cents a round which isn't too bad. For this year I'll mainly be paying attention to what heat does to the performance of the round. It's very hot here, but also very humid. Knowing what these 2 factors, along with gun and ammo temperatures are massively important at long range. I'll shoot this batch off, monitoring temperature, to see with my own eyes how heat flattens my shot, and what temperature the flattening happens at. I'm just going to take my time, and focus on the science of it all.
