  1. What recoil would you recommend? I’ll have to call BA tomorrow, no time today to tear the GB off to measure the gas port.
  2. Ok here’s the complete run down on this rifle: Upper- Aero Precision standard upper Barrel- Ballistic Adv. 16 in 1/10 mid length gov cut BCG- Ballistic Adv. Charging handle: Aero Precision Gas Block- Seekins Adjustable Gas Tube- 113/4 in mid length HG- Midwest industry 12 free float Lower- Aero Precision Buffer- Aero Precision mil spec 308 carbine buffer tube with carbine spring and weight parts kit- Aero Precision with Mag Pull grip Butt Stock- MagPul ACS Adaptable Carbine I tried to keep everything Aero or Ballistic Advantage with the major parts since the two companies are related the Seekins gas block was used because I was familiar with them since they work great on my other builds Also not trying to be a smart a** thought this would be a good place fo a complete list all the parts in it just for my records. I think that’s everything
  3. Recoil system- Aero M5 carbine Round count- 42 Not sure about the gas port size and that’s a great point I didn’t think about. I can tell you I checked to see if it was blocked with a 1/16 punch slips in it. What size port should it be? I took it back out this afternoon and it was loosening up and cycling like it should. It still failed to hold open on the last round. I know it’s not broken in yet
  4. Is this common with the 308 AR’s? I have never had that issue with regular ARs but there is much more power in this platform.
  5. The recoil system is Aero Precision's M5
  6. I have not tried this but will when I can get into a safe area.
  7. Took the new 308 thumper out today and long story short it failed to lock back and cycle a new round. I figured gas issue on this adjustable gas block and figure maybe I messed up when I installed the gas block somehow. Got it home tear it down and believe the block to be fine. The gas tube extends about 1/2 way across the cam pin notch which should be right. Now I’m wondering if it was a mag issue, and didn’t think to try another mag. I’m so confused lol.
  8. I got ‘em, I got em bahahaha 😭😭😭😭
  9. I new that would get some of ya and I couldn’t help it.
  10. Thanks, I was looking for a hard hitting round, that is prevalent, that would take elk if I want in a AR platform. I’m definitely a gas gun guy and needed a rifle like I mentioned above that can be packed in.
  11. Now that I’ve gotten your attention, does a stripper clip spoon work on a ar308 PMag? I want to get some stripper clips just don’t know if the spoons will work or tear my mags up.
  12. I might put this scope back on the Grendel if I find a better scope for the 308. My only complaint is the Grendel ammo is expensive and hard to find right now. I’ve been looking at swampfox for awhile.
  13. It spent most of the time on a 6.5 Grendel and I only took it out to 300 yrds, and the hold overs were pretty close. See below for model i don’t have enough scope knowledge to tell its going to be on or not. no fast fire on it though
  14. Did you ever get the SwampFox? Looking for a report, how you like it and is it holding up.
  15. I have a Burris 1-6x24 that I’ve used on my AR’s in the past. It’s now found it’s way to my new AR308 and curious if the hold overs will still be accurate for the 308. Any ideas or experience with this.
  16. Great statue, 12 strong
  17. I might change the scope if I can find one that’s lighter but as good
  18. Thanks, it’s an all around rifle SD, hunting, an plinking. My main goal was a rifle with enough whallup to put anything down in Arizona and I can pack in on a horse, without it being my very nice 32+ yr old 7mm mag. I always f lt under gunner when in the military with the 556 and with this one I think that’s been corrected.
  19. Its 1-6x24 and it’s a great scope. Gathers lite very well. I’m curious if the hold overs will be close with the 308.
  20. Another pic this time with a Burris scope.
  21. After about 21/2 years I’m finally in the AR308 club. this build took so long because parts were hard to find during Covid for me and I kept changing my mind on its furniture, but tonight I completed it. still might have some tweaking here and there and change a couple things along with a scope but nice to see this one completed. Thanks to all for input when I needed it
  22. I had one of those lmao
  23. Thanks guys. I figured barrels we not specific but wasn’t sure.
  24. My brother has a left handed stag and is thinking of rebarrelling, my question is anything special about the barrel because it’s a left handed Armalite pattern?
