  2. LOL
  3. The other thing, depending what you were asking about might have been the Manta Rails switch pocket for the light. Lets you just tuck a switch light that doesn't want to stick via tape, tiewrap etc. (or just not your style to do such things) into a sleeve in a pocket that will clip down to pic rails and run the wire to your light. Manta Rails makes some pretty freakin cool rail ware. Going forward I will probably use more standard lights made for weaps like Streamlight or something but their switch pocket was perfect for what I was looking for.
  4. Oh hey @Rsquared gosh sorry I am only about 4 days late. My bad. 😞 The rail is the stock LWRC (it is an M6 "SPR") -- which is picatinny all along the top. 3/6/9 were smooth by default but you can buy sections of pics to screw on to add as needed, from little pieces up to a full "rail completion kit" if you wanted to make a full quad out of it. I decided to try leaving it sort of basic, it was smaller and smoother. I've got Larue IndexClips in the top filling in all the extra pics. There's a gap ahead of the optic where the top section of the handguard lifts off to get to the piston for cleaning etc.
  5. Thanks 98Z5V. Will try to keep it straight.
  6. Welcome from TX! Don't give up on parts they just pop up here and there briefly, I think it all comes down to having alerts setup. Example, LANTAC 308 Enhanced BCG's came back in at AR15 Discounts a day or so back.
  7. oh yeah those are great!
  8. Hey thats nice Lonewolf! How do you like the M&P?
  9. Agree, that is really pretty in ODG. I kinda have a thing for ODG+Black schemes. Not much to show for AR's at the moment but here's one.
  10. Nice looking rig there mcconnell and congratulations on the successful build.
  11. I have been thinking about it for a little while now... the more I think about it, the more I am thinking now THAT would be one "theme gun" that could be worth the custom paint work etc. If I had the clams to buy the parts for one more right now..... A little smiling Trogdor with a beefy arm stickin' out of the back of his neck, there - right on the mag well. hahaha.. "I said CONSUMATE V's!"
  12. "TROGDOR... the BURNINATOR"
  13. For those looking to have a 30 caliber flamethrower I guess, LOL
  14. I'll have to miss out on this one, but figured it might be nice to share. I got an alert just a few min ago that SLR Rifleworks got some 7.5" 308 barrels back in stock.
  15. er, sorry that was supposed to be "and build my builds". Feel free to report me to the Department of Redundancy Department. Anyway, pretty sure I have everything I need now, so time to get rolling.
  16. dang. that plus barrel and BCG could defnitely work for his budget.
  17. Replacement BCG is already on way out to me. Very impressed at this point with LANTAC. Thanks again everyone for the responses and advice.
  18. Maybe its silly but just going to say thanks again for this forum being here and for people responding to my posts. I don't know if I will be able to ever have as much experience as some here have, and I am already concerned about "making waves" or posting outside of here too soon. So I am probably just going to just try to STFU, let the experts be the experts, and build my build my builds. Thanks again everyone. Really do appreciate the info.
  19. Yeah, looks like you'd have a rail that lets part of the muzzle dev "stick out" a bit. Not sure about chamber etc on mine. BA calls it a 12.5" barrel and SLR says the guard length is 12.5" long. All I know is the end of threads on my bbl line up with end of the rail when I held the guard against upper to verify what it would look like. (and it was what I expected) Was hoping for a bit more overhang of the guard (or said different, that a tad more of the fat part of KAK micro slim flash can was behind the guard) but it will do since they don't make a 13” guard. 13.5” is next size up, too long for what I had in mind. Anyway they seemed to be going for similar look (albeit with a different muzzle device) so I chimed in. Hope that is OK.
  20. That IS a nice looking muzzle device. :) FWIW I picked an SLR Helix 12.5” (exact length) M-Lok to go over a 12.5” barrel with (carbine gas length). Specific intent on this one was for a look similar to above where the full diameter part of the muzzle device begins behind/under the handguard. The flash can I'll be using is the KAK fluted micro slim flash can, it is 1.75” long with about 3/4" of that being what covers the threads. A 13" handguard would have been ideal in my opinion for the amount of overlap (ie the look) I was looking for but they didn't make one. 12.5" handguard should work OK though. The can should stick out about an inch when I'm done. Evidently SLR recommends handguard to be about .5" longer than barrel when you want this type of muzzle device and overlap look. (and they make a nice looking linear comp too). They recommend a handguard .8" shorter than barrel when you want the handguard to stop just short of where the threads start on the bbl if you plan on attaching a suppressor that doesn't have to fit inside the handguard apparently this gives just enough gap to be able to get most of them off and on without clearance trouble.
  21. I feel better about something seeing you guys speak well of it. Have been looking at this one for a little while. DSG seems to have a good price on these. They were the first NibX FCG parts I found out there "milspec plus" grade that reviews were not a mixed bag. I have NiBX FCG parts on an AR that seemed to wear in pretty well but they are more pricy to buy (LWRC). Thanks
  22. I found this forum searching on "AR 308 dpms parts compatibility" or something very close to that.
  23. MikeMarine I forgot about this handguard I saw at Primary Arms, $91 if it tickles your fancy and at this moment they are still in stock. https://www.primaryarms.com/aimsports-ar-10-dpms-high-13.5-m-lok-handguard-mtm13h308 13.5" DPMS High, M-LOK I almost jumped on it for my shorty pistol build but didn't like the flare in the middle for that application. Would probably look nice for a longer barrel though. All "Tack14 is a 308 AR Noob" disclaimers apply..
  24. haha! a week or two 🙂 I will be in the doghouse for a while yet. Actually, I'm a cat person. But I'll just get into more trouble if I say I'll be in the cathouse for a while yet...
  25. Very nice!
