  1. We went whole house Kohler on NG. It's dual fuel so could have installed propane tank(s) and plumbed that up as well in the event we have no NG. We decided that risk wasn't worth insuring against. The only time I remember hearing about NG outages were during Katrina, Sandy and some of the big storms and if those happened near me I'm pretty sure whether or not I had propane backup would be pretty far down the list of worries. You can go as far down the rabbit hole with preparations as you want - NG, backed up by propane, backed up with a battery bank, solar panels and then a gasoline portable or even a redundant primary genset in case the main fails.
  2. The interesting fact that I read recently about rangefinders. The laser one is actually can be used for hunting and for golf. A golf one seeks the nearest flagstick for measuring the distance in an open field. “First target mode” is the default target setting of this rangefinder as they are built for the golfer. And hunting rangefinders always are in “Distant Target Mode” by default to spot wildlife in wooden terrains. This target set automatically ignores close objects that could obstruct the view. And someone even uses a golf rangefinder for hunting. My friend said that after trying and getting frustrated with his hunting rangefinder, he set out to buy a new one for golf. The hunting one was ok, but the golf ones “grab” the pins and make it so easy.
  3. I did a lot of research on drones before I invested. Overall consensus was DJI was the way to go. I didn’t want to drop loads of money into something I may or may not use, I took to eBay to find a used one. After much following and many none winning bids, I bought my Mavic Pro on a “buy now” for $650.00. Great condition, rarely used and came with 3 batteries, multi charger for all batteries and the controller. Hard case and 2 extra sets of props also included. If I ever decide to use it more during fishing, I’ll look at the newer upgraded models.
  4. I want to share my favorite Indian coffee recipe. Indian Espresso Coffee made without an espresso machine.Ingredients:Instant Coffee Powder - 1 tbsp.Granulated Sugar - 2 tbsp. (alter according to your taste)Milk - 1 cup (240 ml)Water - 1 tsp.Cocoa Powder - To sprinkle on top (optional)InstructionsIn a coffee mug, put instant coffee powder and sugar. Add 1 tsp. water and mix. With a spoon, start beating the mix vigorously. You have to incorporate as much air as you can. That will give you the whipped frothy coffee-sugar mix. The more you beat, the mix will become pale in color. Make sure your mix is whipped and creamy enough.Heat a cup of milk and pour it over the whipped coffee-sugar paste. Stir. Sprinkle cocoa powder and serve immediately.Of, course who have a coffee machine - it would be easier to prepare.Notes:To make more than 1 cup, prepare the coffee-sugar paste in a bowl. Divide the pasta equally into each coffee mug and pour hot milk. Stir and serve.
