As I was at Brownells for day number three of my spending spree I noticed a big banner for the Daniel Defense Modular Free Float Rail. I have not seen this before. Looks like a possible alternative to the JP VTAC.

Brownells has a new batch of these due in by end of the month. I'm thinking of ordering a few for spares. Anyone have an opnion on them? yes I know I can order direct but my local FFL is already setup for Brownells and Im in no hurry.

I gave my G Loomis and a decent Daiwa to a dear friend who's rod and reel had grooves in them from the line. He's a real thrifty guy in his late 60's. He was thrilled to put it mildly. Of course there's no turning back once you get used to the crack of a nice rod and reel. <laughs>
