  1. I hope thats his finger or tongue and not something genetically odd inherited from you ;D Looks like fun man
  2. Sorry I was multitasking and misread what you wrote. A very well known 308 AR rifle builder sent this to me once. Many people think that just because some factory makes a round in their caliber (say 308 or 7.62), it should function in any rifle. Nothing could be further from the truth. There is a very wide range of internal ballistics on all this ammo and it is not realistic to expect that a self loader will function with any round out there. Weapons designed for military applications assume that they will use military grade ammo which will in fact fall into a relatively narrow range of specifications, both dimensionally and in terms of internal and external ballistics. So it follows that you can have a fixed gas system that will deliver a specified reliability requirement as long as you use the required ammunition.
  3. Have you shot any other ammo?
  4. Here at 308ar.com we strive for the uttmost accuracy in statements. We do not allow panties period, whether bunched or snugged up to the belly button. Members are onlly allowed to wear thongs, and or boxers shorts. While commando is acceptable it should not be spoken of publicly unless in a military or Arnold reference. Therefore "Panties in a bunch" is incorrect and not allowed. The correct statements would be "thongs in a bunch" or boxers in a bunch. Bunch of nuts might confuse members Those attempting to wear panties at 308ar.com will be redirected to a firearm forum for the more "sensisitive" types with smaller caliber weapons. **This public service announcement brought to you by the 308ar.com committee of underwear speach political correctness.**
  5. were you with DNP?
  6. You were due. You need that Sig 1911 we discussed a well. Your wood is much darker than my buddies <munch>
  7. Well the MBUS need to be on the same plane so you have two options. Get a block like this, or get the railed gas block of your choice and add a riser block to it.
  8. The UBR is a little on the hefty side but a great stock regardless. The ACS might be a nice runner up. Im not familiar with your barrel selection
  9. what sights?
  10. What scope you going to run on it?
  11. Three years ago I was moments away from impulse buying an Armalite AR-30 chambered in .338LM. The dealer had no ammo on hand. I decided to hold off and check ammo availability. Got home and checked Midway and was floored it was a little over $10 per round. So with the cost per round and no range longer than 200 yards I skipped the .338 LM. For me the 300 Winchester Magnum works as I travel to Vermont to shoot long range at a buddies. I noticed the local mom & pop store had 300 mag on the shelf a few feet away from the twinkies, 2 cycle oil and pron mags. Ill get a .338 LM weapon when I retire and move next door to 98Z5V <thumbsup>
  12. yep that little bullet at those speeds does some interesting things to various targets. ;D
  13. You know I have a mountain of my favorite Hornady 22-250 ammo on hand. I can try it in the mags for sure. I read online that Armalite once offered 22-250 uppers and there was a tech note on the mags. I havent googled for that yet. I should also mention Im not concerned with barrel life
  14. Damn you, I want to heckle you and make fun of your wood but I'm really begining to like this build. It's sexy as hell
  15. welcome
  16. Show us what you got. Perhaps shorten your existing barrel and get a lighter stock if applicable
  17. It's my goal to bring everyone together to share their knowledge and learn from each other. Lesson 65b - Snooze you lose <lmao> "This public service announcement brought to you by the leveraging, cutthroat administrative staff of 308ar.com. Your hesitation is our gain and will be used for cheesy jokes and one liners for years to come" ;D
  18. I wonder if they have had enough of high taxes, high union labor rates and one of the worst antigun climates in the country? Colt’s Manufacturing Co. today announced its commitment to create 63 jobs in Osceola County for its new regional headquarters and product manufacturing center. The center will hire people for engineering and manufacturing jobs, among others. In 2012, Colt’s is projected to begin phasing in the first of 63 jobs paying an average salary of $45,060 to be created during the following three years. “As a supporter of new job creation and the Second Amendment, this announcement sends the clear message that Florida is both open for business and a defender of our right to bear arms,” Scott said. “My primary responsibility as governor is to be our state’s chief advocate for job creation. My personal involvement in bringing Colt to Florida demonstrates my administration’s deep commitment to rebuilding our economy.” Colt’s Manufacturing is making a $2.5 million capital investment in a vacant building, which the company will lease (the former Osceola County Council on Aging facility on Shady Lane), that is owned by Osceola County. Scott and his economic development team at Enterprise Florida Inc. and the Osceola County Economic Development Department worked with Colt’s to bring this project to fruition, according to a press release from the governor’s office.
  19. I still find it interesting that the Bushmaster 308's have a removeable trigger guard and the DPMS do not. I wonder if they will standardize on one lower.
  20. I just saw this listed as new products at Brownells ACS-L, STR. What does "Restricted Carbine Stock" mean?
  21. They offer 300 win mag too. I like that
