  1. For posting images from links see my post To attach pictures click the "More reply Options" in the lower right of the post box. That opens the "Attach File" dialogue. One difference from the old site. After selecting your picture you must click "Attach this file" That will instantly upload the picture into the current post. If you dont click the button the file wont upload.

    Tools?

I found the barrel alignment gage very useful when aligning the JP handguards. The gage is slightly larger OD than a gas tube and made getting proper orientation easier. Again some of this is specific to an individuals build. For me the pivot pin tool to is a blessing. But missing some fingers I need every mechanical advantage I can gain. I have a slightly different version, it's not L-Shaped. The L is a BIG improvement
  6. I received my two OA 45 AR15 magazines today at 11:45am. 15 minutes shy of two felonies. On a positive note I have two 10 round sig 1911 .22 mags inbound.

if you can afford it skip the Rainier select and go for the Match. The barrel is the heart of the gun and the last place to skimp. jmho The roll pin holders I posted previously are great. Ill post more info tonight

    Tools?

I have that book. I will see what it's suggesting. Many of the tools are the same. One difference is the barrel nut. You need to know what handguard your using to determine what is needed for a barrel nut wrench. If you can give us a parts rundown of your build Do you have a good vise, hex wrenches, plastic faced hammer etc? or should I get specific
  11. I need to replace my home theater receiver. Unfortunately like everything else my needs exceed my budget. I notice on Ebay there is several sellers selling the receiver I want $400-$600 less than online retailers like Amazon. They all state the devices are NIB, full warranty. Anyone know what the deal is on these or of a retailer that is competitive and doesnt follow the manufacturers pricing? Same question about Nikon FX camera lenses.

    Tools?

The Brownells DVD Terry suggests is very good. I will also throw in the AGI DVD. It's dry and boring but it does a pretty good job with headspacing. Barrel nut alignment gage Roll pin holders Vise block and receiver block Headspace gages

    Tools?

While there are some tools common to builds there are also some specialized tools relative to your specific build. What exactly are you building? Do you have any tools for working on AR-15's? Also if you go to the forum main page on the right side there are some text links to tools. I will use topic to develop an updated list for the site.

  21. I want to pin mine myself to avoid shipping it to Washington and back. Im just looking to know how and where the ACS is typically pinned so I do not have to reinvent the wheel.
  22. For me it's more about a reliable known source. I understand we need more options in bolt carrier groups. I welcome and embrace the new offerings but I will leave the field trials and R&D to others. Heck even Young MFG had some growing pains with the .308's Anyhow guys please do check the headspacing and keep reporting back on the long term results and experiences. I'm hoping for the best here.
  23. Im thinking that shit would be good in a 300 blackout chambered lever action with a can..
