What do you have on order or in the mail? Part 2
jeffery replied to imschur's topic in General Discussion
I ordered an rcbs charge master supreme and a frankford arsenal bundle for cleaning and drying brass. so far -
I like to think of myself as someone who can spot a scam and cant be so easily duped. Especially in my line of work. The problem was simply that I didnt pay attention to my spidy senses on this when they wanted me to send them the money through paypal friends and family. I have never used paypal that way so I didnt see it coming. Now I know I can hear some chuckles right now and I have to admit looking back on it I cant help but call myself a dumb ass for ignoring the obvious and laugh at myself a bit. I will try again to buy the varget gunpowder and large primers someplace else...lolol. Aint gonna tell the wife. I dont have a death wish. I get a lot by her I mean hell she thinks that rifle I just built only cost me a few hundred....but this would go over like a fart in church. A loud and stinky one...lol

Dont know where this should go so apologies if its in the wrong spot. In any case, I found this site to buy some varget and some primers. They never sent me my order and refused to refund my money. $150 worth. I made the mistake of using their preferred method which was paypal and to use friends and family section to send the money. I didnt trust my instinct on this and sent it. After about a week of nothing I contacted them on their chat section and they came up with some excuse of me needing to buy some sort of hazmat insurance in order to get it and I had to pay that too for the order to be delivered. Then it would be magically refunded. They quit talking to me on the chat so I know I am out but wanted to let everyone know. Maybe someone here has used them? https://primoreloading.com/

the man knows his stuff. I trust him completely ... now he may have dumbed it down for me but still. I will put his skills up against anyone on this form or any other. I trust this man with my life so I can trust him with my guns. As to why I am not doing it. Its simple. 2 reasons. 1 I dont have any tools for such a thing and 2 since I have no tools I have never done it before. That said I plan on buying the tools and building my next one myself. -

When I took my box of goodies to him to build i decided to weigh it first in the box for some reason. 24lbs I think it was. Its funny cause that was the first thing he asked me when I dropped it off. weird ... In any case i discovered that I missed buying one part. Of all things it was a mag release. So I bought a troy industries ambi release. Tool steel. I thought perfect. I swear when I bought it, it said it was for ar15 and ar10. In any case.... its not...lol... SSSOOOOOOOO I had to order another one because it was too short. Got that in and gave it to him so it should be ready anytime. Im kinda hoping its done this weekend but we'll see. Im not in a hurry although Im anxious to get it back and post a pic. But Im not gonna bug him to much about it since he's doing it for the price of some homemade cookies..... -
I am planning on building my first AR over the winter probably. Right now a friend of mine, who is an armorer, has built an AR15 carbine for me and almost done withe an AR10 in 308 for me. But why should he have all the fun. Im trying to understand all the little details about doing this but it brought a thought to mind. Say I decide to build and AR. So when I am buying all the parts for it how am I going to know what will give the right head space? I mean I get what it means but why would some parts work and others wont? Further what is typically the root cause of headspace being to far off?

I got the case in today. Pelican 1750... Damn nice case. Heavy as hell. Very solid. My armorer friend has all the parts now and is going to put it together. Thanks to every one who had suggestions on this. It helped a lot and I learned a lot more. I will post a pic of it once its done. -

I got with the guy who is putting my rifle together and he is aware of that issue or possible issue and said he will make sure all is well. But thank you for pointing that out to me. -

well I was getting all the parts together for my ar10 build when I realized I didn't have a mag release. SOOOO i ordered a Troy Industries mag release. Got it in and thennnnnn realized that it didn't have the button and the spring.. SOOOOO i had to order that. lolol.... Anyways I got it in and gave all of it to my friend to assemble since I am AR retarded concerning assembly and he is an armorer. Im very lucky for that. Today I got the final final piece which is a Pelican 1750 rifle case. It is super nice. Very heavy duty. Cant wait to get it back and shoot it -
Im about as squeaky new as it gets to AR rifles and builds and with that said I honestly was thinking that the the jams had to be related to the buffer system. If that is so then if i can figure it out then why in the world couldn't he? Of course I could be way wrong

I live in Dayton, you know the 5th most violent city in Ohio, and i can tell you all from personal experience that as of yet there has not been any real negative side effects of this law passing. pretty much just another day. Im sure that someone can find something someplace but honestly its really not a big deal -

the buffer tube is fixed rifle length and as for the gas tube, when I get it, i plan on getting a rifle length. also plan on using a superlative arms adjustable gas block. -
