That's a sweet rig alright, it's always that LT quick-detach scope mount that catches my eye first though. You just can't beat 'em.

I'm not to thrilled with the stock fluted 20" that came with my current gun, I'm wanting to go slightly shorter and this sounds right up my alley. What do you need to get out of it Jgun?

I used a strap wrench on mine. It unscrews in the typical counter-clockwise fashion. you may have to heat the back of the FFT right there at the receiver with a heat gun or some such to help break the loctite on the threads.

No problem. Post up some pics when you get it back. Unfluted barrels are pretty cheap, getting them fluted is a cool way to customize an otherwise ordinary barrel.

Oh ok, I know exactly what you're talking about now. You could roll up emery cloth (or wet-use sandpaper) and use it to very lightly polish the bore in the bolt/extractor assembly, make it a little easier to remove. You wouldn't have to get real agressive or anything, just very light and even polishing to loosen the fit ever so slightly. We were referring to the firing pin retainer pin(#14), whereas you were speaking of the cam pin(#6) as shown in this diagram. Edit: Woops, posted late!

I'm with imschur, I'd be interested in seeing a pic of your BCG from the ejector port side.

I spray pretty lightly, on the premise that the more oil you put in there, the more crap will get absorbed and then you have a nice pasty gunk to clean out of your weapon. I like cleaning guns but I don't like it THAT much...

Well, your choice of lube is up to you, I run light stuff, others have run motor oil... I simply lock the bolt back, and spray Rem Oil in the receiver area, then release the bolt and spray the bolt assembly with a light and even coat until the bolt locks home in the barrel extension. Since I clean between range sessions, the bolt is typically unlubed (though clean) until my next range day.
