  1. Boooooo....
  2. Suh-weeeeet. Nice job.
  3. Anyone know anything about this company? Supposedly they are getting into the .308 market this year, bringing lots if new accessories with them.
  4. I don't doubt what you're saying it true, but I think the quality of barrel makes a difference as well. After having a long conversation with KK Jensen and Mike Dagerness (both from Jensen Precision, which is now Proof Research), they said near the exact opposite. They state, if you have a high quality barrel, a tighter twist will handle all the pressure you put through it. I have one of their carbon fiber wrapped barrels on my .308AR. I have a 17", rifle length gas, w/ 1:10 twist. They flat out told me, "shoot whatever you want through this barrel." So far I've shot 145gr up to 175gr. From cheap steel surplus to high end match.
  5. Lol. After hanging out with all you AZ supermodel-types, I decided to shed the weight. Took me 10 months to drop 90#. First time I met 98Z5V we played the "what are you carrying" game. He can attest to my zealous CCW tendencies. If SBS's were allowed, I'd have a Surbu tucked away somewhere too!
  6. The only Kryptek pattern packs I've seen, that are in my price range, are from Grey Ghost Gear and Timberhawk. GGG is more for "tactical" use and is available in all the Kryptek colors. The Timberhawk stuff is only in Kryptek Highlander, and is more focused for hunters. Since I already own Kryptek Highlander clothes, I went with the Timberhawk. If money wasn't an issue, I'd be looking strongly at this bag instead. http://missionspec.com/products/llama-pack-long-range-low-profile-adaptable-mission-assault-pack/
  7. I'm 5'10" 185#... I CC a Springfield TRP Operator 1911 with full rail, a Walther PPK/s .380 and a Maverick .357mag Derringer... All at the same time. When I get off my azz about an AR pistol, I'll CC that too!
  8. The APEX doesn't just clamp on. A standard barrel nut (from inside a delta ring assembly) is needed. Then a clam shell is placed over the barrel nut. Next the free float tube slides over the first portion. The two then screws into each other. Everything is VERY snug, and it requires a bit of elbow grease to get everything together completely. It's a very solid system. I have one on my .308 and have used then on several other rifles.
  9. Nice. Now you have two pistols
  10. Ummmm, can you confirm your stock? You should have an M4 CAR stock. If you do, then both of those WILL work. I think there's some confusion somewhere
  11. Another old codger from FL? Did we post for members in the local AARP news letter? Lol All kidding aside... Great to have you here!
  12. Wtf bro! Where's the pics?
  13. Send me your address. I have a few for you.
  14. I have the Magpul MIAD on my SI Defense .308AR. I have the large back strap on there. No wedge required. In fact, I had to sand the grip down a bit to get it to fit properly.
  15. DAO anything is garbage in my book. I understand DA/SA, but DAO makes no sense to me. Having the extra pull for a first round helps with accidental firing, but after the first round I know I want the rest of my rounds out as fast and accurately as possible. If that was the USP Compact .40 with the DA/SA and decocker, that would've been a great gun.
  16. I haven't seen a receiver that needed a grip wedge in a long time. I wonder why they didn't correct that?
  17. You had me until you said LEM.... pass
  18. I have the Timberhawk Rut Buster on its way (Thanks to Farkle!... fuckin' enabler!) Should be here Friday.
  19. Rule# 65b = you snooze you lose. "The Rule" is completely differnt
  20. Personally, I think you should invest in a Magpul CTR ($75) stock with a Magpul cheek riser ($20). There's also the LaRue cheek riser, which is a lot better quality, but also more expensive.
  21. It's just the box. Inside is just a set of pot holders.
  22. I forgot to mention, I wanted the option for Kryptek camo.
  23. Gawdammit. We keep thread jacking other topics to have this conversation over and over again. I hate searching though the topics to remember small amounts of information. I'm on the hunt for a new bag. Something small, lightweight, and comfortable, that I can use for hunting or just a daily bag. I have my mind set on one of two bags (I may get both). First is a Grey Ghost Gear lightweight assault pack. It's just about the perfect size. Has all the features I want... and will attach to a load out if I buy compatible gear (Mayflower R/C and Haley Strategic). I'm mainly waiting on one of their HUGE holiday sales before I snag one. Second is a bag I've seen at several stores recently. It's more hunting vs tactical, but the price is right and I think it'll do exactly what I want. It's made by TimberHawk and it's their "Rut Buster". Amazon had these for a steal right now. Almost can't NOT buy it.
  24. I had that Buffertech Hydraulic buffer installed in my .308 for a while. It didn't cause me any issues, but I can't say you're getting the same results. I'd look around for a standard buffer and see if that makes a difference.
