  1. I'm not going to lie.. despite the issues you've had... That is still a SWEEEEET looking rifle.
  2. WARNING: You WILL be offended by this post. If this was meant as a sarcastic joke, you missed the fuckin target by an embarrassing margin. If this was a joke, it's shiit like this that pisses me off as it detracts from legitimate content. Failures to articulate sarcasm confuse everyone and turn a thread to diarrhea in a millisecond. The guys that successfully fukc around here, have long established their sense of humor and displayed their skilled ability to communicate such humor. If this was NOT a joke... you should've prefaced your introduction with, "I've never disassembled an AR rifle" or "I have very miniscule and limited experience with AR rifles." While you never claimed to be a guru of AR knowledge, you surely touted your experience as an avid enthusiast. I kept my mouth shut throughout... until now. Asking if it's melonite or ceracoat furthers substantiates your lack of knowledge in this topic. Melonite is no more a coat as stainless... it's a metal "treatment"... why would anyone on God's green earth ceracoat just the crown of a barrel?? Those were really the two best educated conclusions you could come up with? I'm baffled that the concept of carbon build up didn't even make it to consideration, despite the knowledge that the rifle was used... I get pissed at the sense of entitled respect America's youth demands... I forget that there's a generation of enablers that birthed that concept, and nurtured the behavior to its current state.
  3. Oh Blue... that's an expensive one to get caught on... I look forward to your review! <lmao>
  4. SLR Rifleworks has an interesting rail coming out. Not a lot of info on it yet.
  5. Did the 6.5 Creedmoor beat out the .260 Remington, as far as mainstream production goes?? I was always a .260 fan.
  6. I had a feeling YOU would be the one to find this first. Farkle is honestly the "Ip Man" of Goggle-Fu.
  7. Check your scope mount too
  8. As far as quality goes... SWS and APEX far surpass the others. Lancer and JP/VTAC both make 15" free float tubes.
  9. That's not just a small "oops"
  10. I don't know what you mean by "regular"... If I were building a wildcat, I'd stick with a carbine length gas tube and add an adjustable gas block. You'll be able to adjust the gas accordingly, for your desired loads. As for custom parts... I'm assuming you're not a gunsmith. Which means that you're going to need one... A really good one. The parts will need to be fabricated from scratch. I won't lie when I say that one-off parts will run about 5x normal cost. Then you'll have to look at hourly rate. You're not going to find simple "plug and play" parts. You may very well be the first to ever attempt this. A gunsmith will likely spend hours doing a trial and error of parts, trying to get your gun to fire/chamber/eject reliably. It may behoove you to wait for LWRCi to finish their new 6.8SPC rifle. It has a larger than standard receiver, that uses a new/larger 6.8SPC PMAG. This design is under contract to a foreign military right now, but they already stated that it will become a domestic rifle in the near future, after they (LWRCi) have satisfied their end of the contract. From what I understand, Magpul has agreed to make a shiit ton of these mags to distribute with the rifle. If your google-fu is strong, I'm sure the measurements are out there somewhere.
  11. I did that to my finger once. The pressure was so bad I had to lance the nail. I bled like I been shot in the liver. The instant pain relief was totally worth it.
  12. The smallest cartridge I've seen for the 308AR, has an OAL of 2.7 (but that's just what I've seen. There may be smaller). I'm not saying it can't be done with the Dasher. I'm just saying you'll have your work cut out for you. Modifying magazines. Modifying barrel extension/feed ramp. You may have a strange ejection as well. That short casing is going to fly out much sooner than the rifle was designed. I doubt it'll even touch the shell deflector.
  13. Want to read about a sick fucker... http://www.sacbee.com/2013/10/22/5843888/davis-teen-accused-of-double-homicide.html This kid will spend the rest of his life in a cell. Fuckin demented. This was my friends case. The case was gut wrenching.
  14. big thumbs up! <thumbsup>
  15. Sorry guys Snopes.com
  16. Declan... I like that!
  17. I don't think this will work... The Dasher is too short for the longer action of the 308AR. I suggest modifying a standard AR15 instead. The Dasher is just a .243 in a short (1.5") .308 casing. The OAL of the Dasher vs the 5.56x45 is almost identical. You'll just have to find someone to make a bolt for you.... I think you can use a .458 SOCOM bolt??? I believe the .458 has a .308 Winchester rim... but I'm not 100% on that. Definitely a wildcat build. Why not just make a .243 Win AR? The ballistics I found on the Dasher aren't that far off from the .243.... And all the parts are already available.
  18. Done We're losing
  19. Ohhhhhh Toooooooommmmm...... I found the perfect addition to your 7.5" pistol.... it'll make carry options a lot easier. (I'm not a Mako fan, but this may be worth trying) I think this is going to happen for me. I'll race you to the finish line. (I hate finger grooves, so I see some major modifications and stipling in my future.)
  20. I've never done it myself. I called a local company that mainly does motorcycle parts. They answered all my ?'s and said they had just started doing firearms. They had only recently acquired their FFL to accept items in the mail.
  21. What mags are you using? Different mags will cycle differently. Fwiw, soft point ammo has historically been an issue with some AR type rifles. M4 feed ramps solved a little of that issue. Modern mags and bolts solved more. If needed, you could put a polish on the feed ramp. A dremmel works best, but some 000 steel wool and flitz will suffice.
  22. Like Farkle said, the PRS uses a standard rifle length receiver extension. Almost fixed stock will fit.
  23. I seem to remember the brown plastic years, that some people thought were wood.

  25. Farkle has that patch on his gear. I LOL every time I see it.
