Survivalshop,

I would agree with you, that what I am trying to do here is at the high end of what this cartridge is capable of, kind of like what we do when we shoot 9mm Major in IPSC pistol. I noticed that the load listed by RSilvers (who I would consider the authority on the cartridge) for making major is 20gr of A 1680 behind a 175 SMK bullet loaded in "new production Remington 300 BLK brass) As soon as I get the Rem brass and some of the Alliant powder, I plan to try that load as well as picking up where I left off with my load development, but this time using the Rem brass.

Bro ,if you want me to send you some of my Rem. brass ,PM me, I can part with some .

I like the cut down LC better any way .

Its had two loadings .

You know all you have to do is buy some of the subsonic 220 gr. loads out there to get some rem. brass & I'm not sure it will fix your problem.

Did you get your major PF load worked out?

I started with the info Mr. Silvers load, but having 168gr Sierra MK's and the load data from Accurate Powders I'm making 325 PF using 20.1gr of A1680 and the OAL that he recommends.  I've had no signs of excessive pressure at the neck or at the primers.

I've actually managed to make major out of my 18" barrel, with room to spare, using 145, 155, and 175gr bullets, all using LIL GUN powder. Now that I have accomplished that goal, I'm planning to see what the lightest bullet I can make major with is. I'm hoping that the lighter bullets will give me the flattest trajectory while still being acceptably accurate. I've got some 125's that I'm going to try next. If they make major I think that will be it for my load development, because I don't think I like the 110's for this use, if not I'll try the 130 and 135's.
