Cali_Ed
Not even. My scope is as low as it can get, too. hey brother what's the biggest advantage of the timney trigger vs the rem?
GreyGoose
Hey Ed, if I may;The Stock Rem triggers are just heavy and a little rough, they say you can adjust them down but I have never been able to get any of mine down below 4lbs.The Timney's are nice, you can't go wrong with one of them.If you do end up going with a chassis or aftermarket stock at some point be aware sometimes the pin on the side of the Timney's can make that problematic, not that you can't get them dropped in however a little modification may be required. For my Rem 700 go to trigger I like the Shilen, they are a great trigger! Light and crisp, you might want to look at those. (Produce nice barrels too.)Good luck!
Cali_Ed
Probably need a trigger tool that measures the pull weight so I could get it diled?
jtallen83
I can see why a Gunsmith doing trigger work would want a trigger pull scale but for me if it feels good then I'm good, doesn't really matter if it is 2.5 or 4.5 as long as I like it. MikedaddyH
hey brother what's the biggest advantage of the timney trigger vs the rem? This weeks episode of "Guns and Gear" is about a Timney trigger on a Rem700. 98Z5V
hey brother what's the biggest advantage of the timney trigger vs the rem?Timney Rem 700 triggers haven't been recalled, and they don't SUCK. That's the difference.Probably need a trigger tool that measures the pull weight so I could get it diled?Bullshiit - specify your pull weight to Timney when you order it, then don't fuk with it. You don't need to fuk with it, you need to shoot your rifle until YOU can outshoot IT. Leave it alone until you can do that.As a matter of fact, don't do a damn thing to that Rem 700 until you can outshoot it. Just mount glass. And shoot. Once you improve, start making changes that benefit your shooting improvement. Looks like you practice your accuracy shooting at 50 yards anyway, based on what you recently posted, so try to stretch it to 100 first. Don't make me post the pic, Eddie. At this point in your game, you don't even need to worry about shiit at 500 and 600. Seriously. Cali_Ed
The picture I post here was a day out for fun. I shoot between 100 and 300 when I hit the range. I don't have access to longer ranges right now. I agree with what you are saying on leaving it alone becuase I plan on doing that I preach that same advice. Just nice to know for my records in this thread of what can be done to these rifles. I still need some tools so that I can shoot out further successfuly.
