Schwansonite
Now I bought a LR 308-AP4 but I never got sights with it? I am looking at the EOTech holographic sights but do I need collapsable sights too, such as magpul? or is the Holographic enough? I see lots of gun pictures that have both. edgecrusher
i would have back up irons just in case, never know what may happen to an optic and iron never fails. i may sell my gen 1 magpuls, but i also use troy tritiums as my only sights on a rifle and love them. imschur
The Magpuls are new but stock replenishes pretty quick at the usual sources

Robocop1051
I'm on a different thought process. I believe you only need what your environment and usage requires. I'm LE, so for my work rifle I prefer a 0 to low magnification halo/scope with paired with back-up flip sights. The job and my life require 100% reliability. For a paper killer, I get a high magnification scope and let it stand as-is. I'm not so worried about the target charging the bench if my scope fails. For home-defense I only choose tritium sights, because they never fail to perform. As for hunting... I never needed two types optics/sights during the 20+ years Ive been hunting with a bolt or lever rifle. If something ever failed, I either went to the truck and got something else or I went home. As for an all around "fun gun" you can't go wrong with a stand alone EOTech 512. Cheap and easy to find. Uses AA batteries. Can be used by just about anyone for damn near any situation.
